I have no problem with a bottom feeder seeing what they've got. They're basically just getting a head start on training camp next year. - CubanBuffet

yes but its only projection. Some Gms dont need a C or want a certain player. Wouldnt be the 1st time theres been some surprises.
personally I like them better than mathews. esp laine. - SMBDragon
While I respect your opinion on the Finns, Matthews is basically a year ahead of everyone in this year's draft. He was 2 days too young... He played with Zurich this year and still impresses. I don't doubt the talent of the rest of the top picks but he is by far the pick of the draft due to his head start. I would think this year will be interesting to see some pick swaps happen. I think the defenseman available will be where the surprises happen and get drafted higher then projected due to needs and how many others may be in the market to add those pieces.
We still need a 1st line center to take over for Hank when he's done. I like Bo but he has to step it up another notch next year to be considered for that role. I feel he is still a solid #2 shut down center but #1 might be a stretch.

If Mathews was not C or the Finns were the top 3 would be a toss up.
I've always valued a C over a winger if its close.
U can convert a C to wing much easier than vice versa & also have another C on the ice to take FO's.
That said any of top 3 r studs that any team would like to have.
Here is too luck on our side & winning one of them πππ»
Worst case scenario is we get a top 4 D.
2nd round on is where JB shines & it will be an interesting draft for sure. |

Best thing about only 3 games left is won't have to read about tankers wanting losses after game 82 is in the books. FYI it has very little bearing on luck & where we draft. In my books tankers r not fans at all. |

Douche Bagalow is still trying to figure out the Flames top 6. You'd think after 13 years someone would have a handle on it. He'll get it someday when his hockey IQ rises or graduates from the Mom's basement. |

Well he should be on the Oiler blog n be worried when they pass the Flames like they r standing still. We don't know what is to get top 10 picks every year & go nowhere nor will we look forward to that strategy some call a rebuild. Rebuilds have an end normally called results & so far that has not happened in Calgary. |

Tankers never played a competitive sport in their life where winning was the only reason to play. Not playing to win defeats the purpose of competition by its very definition. Leave tanking to the billionaire owners to mock the game. |

there is a space here if JB so chooses to get mathews. But as I said MY PERSONAL opinion is I like the finns better. I think they're better players. I watched lots of video on these guys and certainly feel they are better players with more tricks in their bag.
Its funny how I mention it and people come talking about how mathews is rated #1 and plays in mens league blah blah. Doesnt matter, when I watch these guys I like the finns better. Its like youre not allowed your own F*cking opinion here, like how dare anyone ever stray from what most blindly believe.
Not saying that directly to you, more the masses. Just needs to be said.
Remember bro we $ to spend, #1 center can be got that way too. While I dont believe theres a chance stamkos comes here if we did get a winger like laine plus a chychrun or sergachev, combined with trees arrival, it could be a lure for a guy like that. |

Build it & they will come.
An idea just came to me....
With all the tantrums & poor sports breaking sticks after a goal i suggest a new penalty named after a known goalie.
The Quick 2 minute Timeout for a Tantrum.

A number of years ago i heard on a radio sports talk show someone say...
"Character is tested in the face of adversity"
The past 3 games I'd say the kids r showing this & the Sedins embody it.
Quitting is easy but it takes a man to stick it out. |

top 3 forwards and top 3 D are all studs. Youre right.
Imagine having 1 of each. What an upgrade on the teams future.
I hope JB is able to pull that off |

So far he is earning his keep at the draft table & trades of the middlin variety.
Much more work yet to do & if we get the D solidified we r well on our way.
The biggest challenge is chemistry & total team commitment all the time. |

Yes he did but i want to see pros act like pros & get it out of the game.
I have no respect or patience for that mentality to be allowed from any player.
It sets a bad example for the youth & simply unnecessary. |
