Good thing my room was on the 10th floor and I didn't need a car to get there.

How did we miss this? Or was I just not here?

- Wetbandit1

Unfortunately he's already been sent down again. Montreal gave him the option to go home and be with his family for the rest of the year or go to St. Johns, he chose the former.

Still though, it's good PR for the Canadiens at a time they desperately need it.

Figure a top 10 pick is going to hit the majority of the time, hope on the 2nd and 1 of the 3's should hit as well, so we are shaping up a restock of the cupboard somewhat fast. Dose it seem like we have more prospects in college then in the past?
- hubie

Regier started doing that as a strategy be we had so many picks & u can hold onto college players rights longer than those from juniors before u have to sign them

He's a good guy and I want to see him succeed, but I think he may have seen his last of the NHL.

Class act of Montreal to let him get one last game though. (If it is his final game)

the 2 d they have us getting in the 3rd I like and would be interested in

As much as Sean Day is worth the gamble have a feeling someone will reach in mid to late 2nd for him

- hubie

I'd take Day with the 1st pick in the 3rd
Boom or bust type pic
Tons of talent...
But can he get his head straight?

Great, now we're picking 9th if the order remains with the possibility of still picking 12th. Whoo-hoo for winning meaningless games, I can't wait for our 1st round pick to be able to help us in 3-4 years.

82 points in 82 games for a team that could have easily gotten 60 is an accomplishment. It's not as though everything went right for this them and they (in my opinion) exceeded expectations. #1 goalie out for most of the year, #1 center out for a few weeks, new coach/system, top players from last year going on IR or MIA. Yet they still have the chance to pull out a .500 in points.

Last summer everyone said that you can't go from 40 points out of the playoffs and improve enough that you're a playoff team which is probably true. But it's much more likely that a team can go from 82 points to about 90-95 points and that could be all they need to be 7th-10th.

- Zschalberg

honestly this team left a lot of points on the board they should hove picked up

not sure if they left a dozen, but pretty close

So I just want to get this straight, you're mad that the players we tanked to get are actually doing what they're suppose to do, perform? You'd rather them suck, so we can get another top pick?

Honestly, I think the chances are getting better and better of us not using the pick. I really believe it will end up getting traded at this point. Our 1st might be a little bit more valuable to someone else. I think we are looking for an immediate impact player with this pick and that just isn't going to happen unless we're picking in the top 3-5. I am hoping it is traded as part of a pretty big deal.

3 years is 3 years, no matter what league you play in... Maybe as a practical matter you can go longer before signing a college player if they feel like staying in college, and you tend to see more college free agents for various reasons, but it's up to the player whether to sign or not regardless of where or what league he plays.

If anyone wants to play the Stanley Cup playoffs bracket challenge at NHL.com. I set up a private league. I just called it HockeyBuzz. It's got the Sabres logo. The password is hardhatisatool

This link should be where you need to go. http://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/#/league/127592

For my team I tried to pick the most deliberate, cringeworthy name. Ruff's Ryders.

Get some of you bastards in there and give us something to root for during the playoffs, because it sure as poop isn't going to be the Sabres. And should you want to join in tell us your HB handle as well as your bracket name in a message board post so we know who's who.

Any problems let me know.

Some guys don't even go to college right away though too
For example...
2012 draft class
All those guys are signed now, except Judd Peterson, who will only be a Junior next year
Drafting College guys can give u more time before signing them

,
Sad thinking as it's more important that the kids learn to win at this point. The 9th pick won't be much different than 4 (the chance of tkackuk playing as an 18 year old = chance of Samson as an 18 year old= not good). The chance of getting a top 3 from the 5 spot isn't much greater than at the 9 spot and the chance of falling farther than 10 from the 9 spot is nearly impossible. Look at the draft %s, use simple statistics and look at the big picture. Tanking made sense last year and we did it to perfection, this year not so much

Took the entire season, but we managed to pass the Habs in the standings.
