Someone that has a job in a corporate environment and actually likes hockey.

people in corporate jobs go to games all over the country. The suit thing is specific to NY.

Um because if you work in the city, and live elsewhere, youre not going to go home to change when the game is right where you are working.

You seriously can't be this (frank)ing dumb.

I have to work late often times until 6:30 or later so if I'm going to game after work, I'll leave work at 6:30 and hop on the subway and go straight to MSG in my suit.

I guess you're not a true hockey fan, according to this winner, if you go to a game in the clothes you wore to work.

No city has a finance industry where you NEED to be suited up every day like NYC does

On days I have to wear a suit to work I bring a jersey to throw on over it, I don't change to go to a game, and I go to games in Newark. I'm certain there's people that must wear suits in Philly.

You don't need to wear a suit to work in finance everyday. I work in finance. Corporate offices around the country have pretty much the same dress code as any place in finance, unless you're meeting with a client. Thats really the only time someone needs to wear a suit. That can happen in any city in any industry.

I do, I apologize for having a job AND Liking / playing hockey.
We all cant be grown men that wear jerseys like we are 12 years old, some of us have had to grow up in life

Most hedgefunds, private equity firms, and investment banks will frown on you if you are not dressed in a suit and clean shaven every day. In the financial services industry in particular, people do wear a suit every day as they do meet with prospects and clients and wholesalers on a daily basis.

Don't own a hockey jersey anymore and don't intend on wasting my money on one anytime soon.

Gray beard/hair rocking a jersey just looks absurd.

lets get back to my main point though..the suit thing can be argued, sure. But the fact is, most of those suit-wearing people aren't as into the game at games in NYC...from what I have heard.

I've worked in respectable firms my entire life, only one shop was not business attire.

Again, I work in finance and this is simply not the case. It is 100% based on your specific function. Most people in finance do not meet with clients on a daily basis. Thats one specific arm of the organization (sales mostly), In fact, PE and Hedge funds are even more laid back in dress than most other organizations in finance (I work for a hedge fund). It's really the big banks that you're talking about with being clean shaven and them caring more about appearance.

business attire =/= suits. Business attire is typically shirt, pants, maybe tie. Not necessarily suited up.
