Isles don't get the respect teams like Rangers and Pens get

I am only interested in getting the easier path. I feel totally pragmatic about that, because after years of the Rangers chasing the Cup, my only interest is what ever makes it easier to accomplish that goal. The reality is that the Rangers will have to play either the Pens or Caps on the way, even if they end up as the 1st wildcard. But, I would prefer not to play them consecutively in the first two rounds.

Yea, but Pete, you've watched hockey enough (and sports in general) to know that just cause it looks like the easier matchup on paper doesn't mean a thing is settled until they play the games. I just want to beat the Islanders once this fn year. Win tomorrow & against the Wings & go in on a high.

in fact, when we watched the 2001 draft, when RJ Umberger was drafted we kept saying "UMBERGERRRRRRRRRRR"

Pens last two games are against Washington and Philadelphia. Two games against teams that have something to play for.

Caps are chasing down the single season wins record for Holtby and the Flyers are still trying to position themselves into the postseason.

The Rangers can still feasibly get home ice for the first round. It's a stretch but there's still a chance.

I hear you brother, but IMO, and this is only my opinion, the Rangers don't survive the Pens and Caps back-to-back, with the way all those teams are playing right now. That's just the way I feel, not the way I want it to be. But, I think the advance through the Atlantic in a game series against a young, excellent Panther team, and whoever wins that 2-3 series in the Atlantic. That, and if McDonagh and/or Girardi aren't ready for the beginning of the playoffs, I would rather defer playing the best teams early.
