I think if we really want Linholm, we're going to be giving them McCabe.
McCabe, Girgensons, and 2nd - sskkoo1
If I'm Anaheim, I'm trading a defenseman bc we have 6 young guys we like
Adding McCabe to that makes ZERO sense
That leaves me with 5 young D
I protect my top 4, & hope they take Bieksa or my #5 young guy I didn't protect
In order to do that though...
I need to get back a young forward I won't have to protect, Fasching or Bailey...
bc we can only protect 4 forwards if we do this
Getzlaf, Perry, Silfverberg & Kesler most likely
I'm not taking a guy back that will then just get picked in the expansion draft

You may be right but I'm not giving up a young D like McCabe who is loaded with potential and cost controlled. |

Nash with Eichel would be nice. - SABRES 89
The no trade makes things complicated but id be all for this. GMTM/Sens came pretty close to acquiring him before the trade to NY. |

I meant in a deal for Nash, sorry. - SABRES 89
Yeah... I'm hoping we don't end up giving him up
Might take that Bailey though
Hopefully they get desperate enough that we can dictate the terms of the deal |

Might be easier to grab Nash then Hall, Rangers need to move money. |

in terms of assets yes but Nash has the final say, this will probably require a pegula-copter ride. |

you are correct, I forgot about that however, play with Eichel and Co. or MAYBE get exposed in a waiver draft. |

I think i would float girgensons and pysyk for the best possible lhd and see what offers you get. Murray will probably want somebody very specific and it will cost more. Trading reinhart really gets us into borrowing from peter to pay paul territory. If its a team from the west i would guess bailey or fasching are gonna be asked for. I think you just mentioned it, but winning a bunch of meaningless games this last month has hurt. Really wanted that pick to be useful sometime next year. Probably not gonna happen now. - rover16
That's what I'm thinking too
Girgs + Pysyk can't get us a partner for Risto unless Milbury becomes a GM again
That's why I think it's gonna be Fasching
Unless Bailey + a 1st is enough
If only Ennis, Girgs & Pysyk didn't have subpar seasons
I think they lost any high end trade value they might have had |

UFA I think
He just fought Getzlaf a couple minutes ago
Bringing him in only makes sense of we can dump Gorges & Franson though |

No, but if Anaheim is having trouble signing 2 of their top young defenseman and they can send one away to us thereby locking up the remaining top guy, and than also replacing him with the slightly lesser production of McCabe while also picking up offensive assets (girgensons/draft picks) than that might be an option they want to explore.

WAY WAY easier
Not just their Cap, but also his age & injury this year will steer some teams away
Hall is also a lot younger

It doesn't make sense bc then they'd have to expose someone like Theodore, and I just don't see that happening
Bieksa, Stoner, & 6 good defenseman under 25
They'll leave the old guys in protected
But it doesn't make sense for them to take a defenseman back in a deal
Young forward makes WAY more sense
Sorry if my last reply seemed harsh at all

I think I made that sound wrong, Play with Eichel and co. or stay with the Rangers and have a chance at being exposed in waiver draft. I doubt he wants to play with an expansion team. Is that what you meant also? |

i think Ennis is exposed if there is a draft - SABRES 89
Even if he scores 20+ again next year?
I'd guess we'd just trade him if he rebounds like I expect him to
Heck, we might have to wait till next offseason to trade for Risto's partner
We don't have much to offer right now |

I said back in the day that I expected it to be McCabe eventually paired with Risto, and Zadorov on the 2nd pair with Myers |

True...
Depends who we still have
Moulson & Gorges make up about half of what we'd need to expose if they're still around
It shouldn't be an issue
This Kings vs Ducks game is GREAT! |
