I would totally tell them to piss off. Tampa has no real leverage, they've lost Stamkos and will probably have a first round exit, than they lose him to the market. Drouin's been publicly asking for a trade, and I feel Yzerman will be shown the door this summer. I see this team trying to savage their core and doing a complete re-tooling.

Not saying this would EVER happen. But if Tampa truly thinks that Toronto isn't an option for Stamkos and that we're one of the leaders in the sweepstakes I wonder if they'd offer Murray Drouin for dirt cheap in good faith that we won't go after Stamkos.

If that were ever the case, than I'd back down from Stamkos all day and take Drouin on the cheap. I'm not 100% sold on Stamkos since he broke his leg, and at the price and term he would cost us, I'd need to be 100%.
