Remember when fancy stats, some fans and some commentators kept stating that Hansen had shown the most success with the Sedins despite not finishing enough, but eventually we would see the results.
This was scoffed at because he had stone hands in the few opportunities he had and according to some was waiver fodder.
Tony is an idiot, but that doesn't mean that Hansen shouldn't get more opportunity with the man advantage just because they sucked last night.
edit. is it only unacceptable to call posters idiot? if not .... - belcherbd
Only posters and bloggers, Tony is fair game...bloody idiot that he is.
And I totally agree with you about Hansen and more opportunities in different circumstances...but the assertion that just by placing him there shows how out of touch WD is in regards to player dynamics/chemistry is BS. There are far more issues than putting Hansen with the twins, how about taking a shot at the net while they cycle, and cycle, and pass, then pass some more, only to turn it over after wasting a minute twenty...

I think some guys around here can call each other idiots without it going to you. Most here are pretty good at giving the back and forth and it not being a big deal.

You know my stance thunda, in this blog canuck fans get a long lease...any other blog and they are fair game.
Other then horvats goal that game was disgusting. Tryamkin literally had to tackle mcdavid and take a penalty or he would have danced around him. Sedins don't give a poop anymore. But other then that let's go out and kill these flames! Big rebound here boys! 4-2 Canucks, granlund gets a hatty

Thanks Carol.
4-1 Flames win tonight.
A loss tonight and we are assured 4th. . 2 losses and WPG gaining a single point in their next 2 games means 3rd - Codes1087
and what if the BJs lose both their games?
how is it possible we finish lower than them if that's the case? to get the 3rd slot we need BJs to get at least 1 point and Nux lose two in regulation. if that happens then it doesn't matter what WPG or CGY do, cuz we finish lower than them regardless.
But whatever the case we need the BJs to get at least 1 more point than the Nux out of the next two games and CGY to get at least the same number or more and WPG to get the same number of points or one less, since they all own the tiebreaker in case the teams finish with the same number of points...

Good assessment, you're thoughtful and unbiased Calgary fan and we value you your trolling... I mean opinion
seems fitting to me. Playing in the AHL, show them what you can do, and then EARN playing time in the show. - Codes1087
Agreed. I really think Yzerman has shat the bed with this one though(and Stamkos), if he's lucky Drouin will have a great playoff showing and have more value.

THAT drove me nuts during AVs days here when they were so heavily leaned on.
I truly wish some coach would come along and show them video of this, explain there wasnt a shot on net despite 1.33 min of constant possession and that they need to get shots on net.
Sorry if this gets Dragon going on a tangent again but interesting article on coaching impact by Yost from TSN.
If you don't believe possession or scoring chances have much bearing on the game then this likely wont interest you.
it was interesting yes. The end was interesting in its careful wording for a journalist.
"As for a team like Vancouver or New York? Well, their preferred deployment choices seem rather puzzling, since less frequently used lines generally outperformed more frequently used lines. To that end, it certainly seems like some coaching criticism may be warranted and justified."
Nashville didnt change much of the roster and went from out of playoffs to #1 in nhl overnight just by bringing in Laviolette. For anyone to see this and discount coaches effect on the team is just plain ignorant of whats right in front of them.
And when you have 2 broadcasters opening mocking our coaches performance on national broadcasted TV there is a big problem with your coach.
But sometimes fans cannot see stuff no matter how many signs with flashing arrows on it point the way. Its apparent that some simply do not want to see and will endlessly make every excuse not to see. Thats too bad.

Nashville was in the playoffs for 8 straight years. Trotz will get the Jack Adams this year, he has never had a top-6 to work with before this year and Washington has been a juggernaut under him. Laviolette was out of work for many years because of how defensively flawed his system was, all offense in Philly. Luckily for him, he's coaching the best d-corps in the NHL or they may not be in the playoffs at all. He has turned them around offensively though.

I agree but Nashville was a different team when they missed. This unknown guy named Pekka Rinne was injured for most of the year and played only 24 games. Nashville missed the playoffs. This guys comes back and plays 65 games Nashville is in the playoffs. I think you should give him some credit as well.
