Tough loss, they really look physically and mentally spent. They cranked it up for a while in the 3rd, but I'm not sure that they have enough left in the tank to do so for 60 minutes. Mason played like a goalie who is exhausted, I think Neuvirth needs to play one of the weekend games.
I'm not throwing in the towel yet though, the Pens are locked into their spot and are playing for nothing Saturday so anything can happen. |

Giving awards to players who proceed to go out and lose to the worst team in the sport. What a concept. - PLindbergh31

Isn't every team physically spent at this time of year. I know the Flyers have had a number of back to backs but there is no excuse to come out and loose a must win game against the last place team. Maybe if they worked their butts off the 2 previous games against the Pens and Wings and came up with wins... I could see a possible emotional dip in performance .
I agree. Give Mason a rest. Suit Neuvirth up for Saturday. And would Jake Voracek please show the (Frank) up! |

Maybe the Flyers should have just played a little better and beat the terrible Maple Leafs in regulation. When you are trying to make the playoffs and you lose points to a team like that you probably don't deserve to make the playoffs. It should have never came down to a referee call in overtime. |

Nothing much to say.
Just win and your in.
Also let's go Sens.
I still feel they are making it. |

I thought it was a terrible call on Macdonald on the OT trip.. But regardless the Flyers can only blame themselves. Biggest game of year and to come out like that against the Marlies... No excuse... Seem like a dead team right now. I was hoping for that Washington - Philly first rounder but not so sure now |

I got to think at least Boston or Detroit will lose on Saturday. Will be a tough game for the Flyers too, so it may come down to Sunday... |

I do too.
I think Ottawa is going to pull it out on Saturday and the Flyers win Saturday. That should make Sunday worthless and allow mason a game off. |

I don't blame the refs for last night. But has anyone else noticed that it seems obstruction and interference is back?
Not just the Flyers but I see the puck dumped in and it's like the forward has 3 players he needs to get through to get in on the forecheck. I actually thought it happened a lot in the red wings game.
I wonder if this is something from the league to the refs to be a little easy on it so there isn't those big hits on the fore-check. |

I really hope Pittsburgh doesn't sit Letang & Crosby tomorrow. Flyers have very little chance beating the SWB Baby Pigeons, they are a lot tougher than the Toronto Marlies. |

I hear they are flip flopping the lines... Crosby gets 4th line minutes, Letang, bottom pairing.
But nice to see you guys are still wishing to injure other teams. Always classy it seems. |

Back to back games with questionable calls and missed penalties (frank)ing our team over. |

There is only one person who I see post things calling to injure opposing players. I think you are mistaken if you think it is multiple people. |

That was ugly. They went from looking like a team with nothing to lose riding a wave of success to a team that looks mentally and physically drained that is folding under the pressure.
I'm going to the game Saturday. It would be awesome if they can find a way to win that one. Can they find a way in during the final hour once again? |

Was kinda weak but it was a pretty clear trip. Sucks to see a game decided by that.
Why do goaltender interference incidents suck so bad? I actually thought both goals should be allowed...not necessarily because of the rules but just watching what happened. I dont think any contact that Laich made prevented Mason from making a save and I thought Bernier took himself out of position by trying to move away from Giroux instead of letting Giroux hit him.
Seems to be the way it goes with this team (thatll happen when every game is so close)...just really sucks to lose both times off of similar plays that were called opposite ways |

Not that it should've created an excuse for awful play but I really wasn't a fan of Hakstol's line up changes. 3 lines were impacted to something unfamiliar with the team already exhausted. Top line was atrocious and still needs to be broken up in my opinion.

Flyers do their best work when they're counted out. Don't ask me why but it seems to be a science with them. So please, continue to doubt them. |

So if they get into the playoffs and go on to win the Stanley Cup that wouldn't surprise you? |
