And I just can't stand seeing Read anymore. He is close to being right there with Vandevelde.
And I hate vandevelde. It's like offense dies when the puck hits his stick. And Read is about there too. |

One thing I don't get was Couturier last night in OT. I had seats 20 rows behind the net. He had an open look and instead of throwing it on net, he just turned into a deer in headlights and dumped it into the corner, which led to the rush that led to the penalty. Just put the (frank)ing thing on net and crash for a faceoff. In 3-on-3, you should never be dumping the puck. |

I remember that. I was actually thinking he should throw it to Mason to keep possession. Sometimes in the 3v3 I think they are afraid to throw it on net incase the big rebound kicks out for an odd man rush.

Yes, but at some point, gotta put it on net. He was lone ranger on that one, so he had 2 men back.
No one play was the reason they lost the game, but that play just summed up the game. They dominated for a lot of it, but the mental lapses were too frequent for me. |

I would still rather sit Read and roll a lines like below:
Voracek - Giroux - Simmonds
Gagner - Couturier - Schenn
Raffl - Cousins - Laughton
4th line
I think Read looks slow and really hasn't had any physical presence. - J35Bacher
I like that 3rd line. May as well try something different . Read has done nothing. |

I understand.
Also is it me or have the refs allowed interference to come back. I started to notice it in the Redwings game and last night. Also watching some other teams play.
Player dumps it in and then he almost has to get by like 2 guys before he can get in on the forecheck. Almost like the league is ok with it to keep from a player having speed and delivering a big hit.
I could be really wrong but it was something I thought I noticed. |

Flyers win both, we're in not matter what the other 2 do.
If both teams lose, Flyers only need 2 points out of final 2 games. - hockeylover
They might need 3 |

I thought the call on AMAC was weak as it appeared the Leaf stepped on his stick. I also thought G's skate was kicked out by the Leaf causing him to fall and take out Bernier. and lastly the OT goal has been waived off in other games for the same exact type play.
all that said, the Flyers put themselves in the position of being down 3-1 because of their own play. it took them to be down 3-1 to turn it up and take over the game.
I wanted Laughton in but not at the expense of Cousins not that either of those guys would have been a difference maker. I believe Jake and Simmonds were on for all 3 regulation goals against. Not good.
they still have their destiny in their own hands but who feels confident they will beat Pitts? I don't. they are on an amazing roll right now. I also don't have faith that the Rangers will beat Detroit. I honestly think the Rangers want no part of 3rd place. the first wildcard is a match up against a TB team missing some key players. Gotta hope the Sens play spoiler and the Flyers can manage 2 points in the last 2 games. |

It's always a good idea to attack Bill. He's forgotten more about the game than this dip poop will ever know.
What's really embarrassing is the entire leafs franchise and that a team universally recognized as one of the worst in pro sports and a laughing stock has fans that troll ANY other NHL teams. |

This tends to happen in the playoffs and I suspect that the refs are getting ready for the show. Haha |

That's where I really saw it. One play Simmonds tried to get into the zone on a chip in and 2 guys basically rode him off so the other defender could get the puck.
It's all good if that's what they plan to do. Just was something I picked up on. |

Laich lingered in the crease far longer than he had to -- made no effort to vacate his position -- and the jumped up to further inhibit Mason's ability to make a save. - bmeltzer

Obstruction is let go a lot more again. they called everything after the lockout but it has loosened up a lot since then. I recall one play where Toronto dumped it in and Amac literally made the forechecker circle far around him. the dump and pick drives me nuts |

The good news is that probably neither the Penguins nor the Islanders will have extra incentive to be spoilers for the Flyers. - Scoob
Im pretty sure if the Penguins knew they could knock the Flyers, of all teams, out of the playoffs, its all the incentive that they need. Just switch the positions, how would you feel if the Flyers were the hottest team in hockey, just clinched home ice, and then could end the penguins season with one win?
yeah, i think saturday we'll be playing the pens 100%, just need to win. |
