There r no UFA fixes unless ppl want Yandle otherwise its pretty much status quo til someone ups their game eg Larsen. - Nighthawk
I bet Benning is very excited about giving a 33 year old a 4.5 mil contract to go score 4 goals and play bottom pairing.

That's fair. IMO Biega, Pedan and Larson are all AHL or 7th guys at best, but I see what you mean. Always a toss up, really it's what they do in training camp. |

Yandle is (it was surprise to me) only 29. He's put up 40-50 points many a times. I don't think we should be trying to squeek in to the PO's next year, but he's what we need (not as in we need to sign him, but the type of player). |

Look at the tail end of the last thread and see how many people disagreed when I said the same thing as I am saying now. Its pretty obvious there is a system, no one makes it out of minor hockey coaching without a system. After losses, the players say they didn't execute, what didn't they execute if there is no system?
I posted two examples of plays and told you the defensive system, where guys were positioned and why the plays went wrong. Neither of them had anything to do with the coach. If you can find me any youtube clip that supports your claim that there is no system, I guarantee I can find you the breakdown in the system. As with any structure, if one piece fails, it all collapses
Here's another example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8-Fh84Iyi8
What do you think they are doing there? Willie says, "thats your guy". And why is that "his guy"? Because thats what the system is. So to you on your TV you think there is no system, but in reality Virtanen and McCann were out of position. Coach can say it a million times in video, but its up to the player to do it. - WhiteLie

I am not sure who they are targeting but they have a top 4 and Hamhuis is not one of them |

If they start two 21 year olds in the top4 we are guaranteed a top-5 pick next summer. I'm all for it in that sense, but it might actually stifle Hutton and Tree's development processes |

As opposed to starting Hamhuis and Hutton this year? How did that work out? |

Normally I would say so, but I think with Hutton coming from college, the amount of time they spend in the gym, he will have a full offseason to prepare that worst case he performs similarly to this year, which IMO was pretty good as a 4/5. That being said I think the more comfortable he gets against NHL competition the better he will be
Tyamkin for me is an enigma. He looks comfortable already and if he plans to train as hard as he said he is, then I can't see why he can't be in the same mix as Hutton. Both could totally bomb next year, but they both have attributes that comfort any worries I might have about their development |

Sorry I can't agree with the idea that Hammer has been a good mentor for Tryamkin. I believe all the credit should go to his position coach, Doug Lidster ...
I'm sure the Dragon will back me up on this ...... - the end

Ok your right Hammer & BHutt were why we sucked & nothing to do with injuries or anything else for that matter. Hammer has to go he is a cancer & we r flush with replacements. Why let him stand in the way of progress. |

What the Fuk are you going to miss? His leAdership in the last 5 playoffs . His blazing shot? His Goliath toughness? Or his four goals this year?
God damn when did this guy turn into Brad Park? |

He's a turn over machine. Kind of a younger Bieksa imo. I use to like him but came to realize I overrated him.

Right you are, it was 16 last year and I just quickly looked. Segachev definetly has the slapper. I'll take a fast/agile stickhandling puckmover over the shot 10/10 times myself. |

I just meant sheer offensive output, but I'm not in favor of Yandle. Much, much better skater/passer than Bieksa though and not at all physical, not sure about that comparison. |

You are right. I meant in the way that Bieksa's poor defensive game slipped under the radar for so long.

I think most on here will agree with you, I see them as a much better as a 5-6 pair to groom for the future. I think Sbisa and a signed UFA or RFA acquisition fit the bill a bit more in terms of being able to play those type of minutes next year. Hutton 's number's since taking on more minutes(and this opinion isn't popular, but statistically factual in terms of a major drop) aren't very good. |
