If Bennings best answer to improving this year with all the cap space he has is to bring back an old, point unproductive , non physical Dman , then he needs to be fired.

You have 20 mil and your answer is Hamhuis? Wow.

We have been going back and forth for years, let's make a friendly wager. If Hamhuis is signed by Canucks I donate 20.00 to jumpstart . If he is not signed by Canucks You will.

Im with you vantel.

We don't need hamhuis absolute waste of space. Edler and Tanev can mentor just fine. I would really like to see us somehow trade for a top 4 dman but im not sure how possible that is

He said it a couple weeks ago before Hammer got 2 more goals. You don't pay 4.5 million for 1 goal per season.

You also don't pay Hamhuis, at this point in his career, to score goals, you pay him to prevent....but he's not very good at that anymore either.

Don't get me wrong. I have loved Hamhuis since his days on the Cougars. There comes a time when a player has move on though. He could still be very effective for us but we still have Edler and his contract to deal with. I don't see management moving him. Would I take Hamhuis over Edler? Yes. Edler isn't going anywhere though and its one or the other.

We had bad coaching last year.

I am all for giving a better coach the job , but I strongly feel it is also the players.

It was one game against the Ducks or the Kings the announcer said on the PP when one Sedin had the puck , he said they are sticking by the other Sedin to shut it down. He said we have seen that routine a time or two before.

Everyone here knows Edler skates the puck up to centre , drops it back to Hank on the PP.

You can't blame the coach for that seeing it has been going on for years. We are a predictable aging team ( the core).

Edler is the Canucks best offensive producer from the back, he has been for years, IMO he's way better than Hamhuis but he plays too many minutes. Thus the need for a number one dman.

No ones giving those away though!

Absolutely both are accountable. WD is not a good coach though. Who we should hire someone, I don't know who right now. I was willing to give WD a long leash but he hasn't been good. For me It goes back to our 1st game against Detroit in October. Lazy line changes. No 5 on 5 goals. $hit the bed halfway through the game only to lose in OT. That wasn't even our worst game of the season but I knew then that the season was going to be trouble. We iced a full line up and were not even competitive that to me says more about coaching than it does about players. Christ Burrows was our best player that game. I was pi$$ed off watching that whole game.

They play different styles/roles, it's not fair to compare the two against each other. It's like comparing Horvat and McCann because their both centres

But there are 4 top 4 spots on D . Edler and Tanev own two of them. It looks like WD would rather Hutton and Tryamkin in the other two .

I don't think WD will be making those choices by November.

We'll see what happens, the defense this year was abysmal. I have a gut felling that Hamhuis is back next year and the boards will be hot with anti Hamhuis talk...kind of like the present.

I think you are right . But I don't see another coach changing that either.

Hamhuis isn't even on the team next year as of yet , so all this may not even matter

I think Trouba could be had. If we some how get the top pick and get Matthews I could see a Tanev + McCann deal for Trouba.

Edler-Trouba
Hutton-Trymakin
Sbisa-Hamhuis
Pedan-Larsen.... Biega to the minors

So if it is abysmal , why is everyone saying bring it back in tact?

People don't give Biega enough credit. He is playing with Bartowski for christ sake.

Yeah I am not anti Hamhuis either. He served his time well here. He is getting old time to replace him with a newer model.
