I've been convinced that they were going to choke down the stretch, especially after Toronto the other night. But there are so many great story lines about people stepping up, Ghost Bear, Simmer, the entire 4th line...playing for Ed...but to me (regardless of getting in-although it supports his case) that Ron Hextall is GM of the year. What he has done in a short window to retool a team that was laden with horrible contracts; bringing along youngsters at his pace and sticking to his guns to not become desperate; actually being shrewd with his draft picks. It's just been a Herculean effort. Way to go, Hexy! You get my vote.
