Johnson loves whatever his name is at least helped him along - hubie
He did. I'm not sure what the goalie market is like out there, but if he came back on a short deal, I'd be fine with that. Ullmark showed some stuff but I wouldn't be in a rush to bring him up just to play 20. Although with Robin's injuries... |

I'm confused. Where all the people who thought he was more than that?
From what I remember, everyone thought of him as the teams 3rd C behind Reinhart and Eichel before they got O'Reilly, as hopes were Zemgus could be a consistent 20-20 guy as the 3C and maybe top out as a 25-25 guy at the high end.
So after a bad season, at his age, that's no longer possible? - kingcong39
His rookie year people would flip out if you put him less than the second line, we all know at least one person who was all about him and there were many like that |

I think his rookie year, we didn't have a whole hell of a lot to be excited about. With the roster as currently (and in the near future) constructed, 3C is just about it. |

I was trying to find the video of when Lou Brown pisses on Roger Dorns contract but this one sufficed for me. Corsi number drives me insane and now this hero chart makes me want to puke. The hero chart probably says Brad Boyes is a hall of famer |

Ooooh. I don't think those folks would still feel the same way today. He's still young, but he had a few younger players pass him in terms of development. |

People thought he would pot 30? I think he's certainly capable of 20. I'm not as high on him as others, and really never was. But I'm also not ready to run him outta town already |

Schaller or Cornel wouldn't be better options? Money isn't an object, simply stating talent wise. Have to have some veterans, but I see Leg asking for a 2-3 year deal if he can find one at his age...I'd only want a 1 year at a time. |

I'd take Legwand over both and no, 1 yr deal is fine he's not going to ask for something he's not going to get. |

That's just how sports talk is... A year ago the Lehner trade was the dumbest move ever, now he may be our legit #1. Trading for Johnson was dumb, he was the worst goalie in the league, now there's lots of calls of giving him a two year deal. Girgensons was our 3C with possible captain implications, a year later he's garbage and we should take what we can get. Ennis was our leading scorer a year ago, now he's worse than garbage. Larsson was garbage, now he's something, and it goes on and on...
Girgensons and Ennis are good players and unless they're in a package for Linholm or Hall they shouldn't be moved, especially for pennies on the dollar. They're young, they'll bounce back. If there is no room for them on our future roster, fine trade them, just not now, not when we're going to be so terribly low-balled for them.

That's all they are a average players, if Ennis isn't moved he will be at the waiver draft and Gigensons has been lost. Stop putting so much faith in players that have done nothing. |

I agree, I see Girgs fitting in perfectly for when Gionta retires, next to Larson and Foligno...hopefully that becomes our 4th line if GMTM rounds out the Top 6 this off seasons, and the likes of Bailey, Fasching, Schaller and whomever else raises their game to create a solid 3rd line.
No need to dump Girgensons. Ennis, unless he gets on track for 25/20/45 ... He could be a casualty. |

They very well may be average players, but right now their trade value is below average. I'd rather give them half of next season to bring the value back up. We shouldn't be in the business of giving other teams good deals. |

Girgensons is no more then a 3rd line player and Ennis should have been gone already if not another concussion. I'll gladly move both for a LHD man. |
