I'm not worried about Boeser signing...I just think his development would be better served in the NHL/ AHL. If Demko doesn't sign this summer that would be concerning. Zero value for him to keep playing college

If there was even a slight hint that a prospect doesn't want to sign with canucks then I would trade his rights immediately. Especially during a rebuild.

If I was GM and trying to build a new identity for my team, no way do I want guys in my organization with personalities like that.

I will watch every playoff hockey game that is on tv and I am available for. There is nothing better than playoff hockey. I am however, way more excited over the draft lottery on April 30th than I am any series of the playoffs.

I'm really liking Ana/Nsh in the first round, two teams that have been tearing it up. I don't know how you guys like hockey but wont watch the playoffs without the Canucks?! Phi/WSH should be a spicy affair too

These are my feelings as well

makes me think the Nux aren't going to get either of these players and they'll go UFA where some team will sign these guys to some sweet deal. No ELC for these guys...

Or

Demko and Boeser are going to destroy the NCAA next season and then Demko tells the Nux he is going UFA.

Nux will then trade his rights for some middling draft picks and conditional 1st if he ends up signing.

if he doesn't sign then the Nux can go after him and overpay just to bring him on board...

Well for starters, regardless of when they join the league, they can only sign max ELC. The only thing that teams can offer is first team position. That was the reason why Schultz chose Edm over us. They offered playing time on oilers while we said we will give you a shot at training camp.

Secondly, kids these days are wired differently. They have regard for life, and health over their predecessor that was all about the money. More and more people in their prime are walking away from pro sports and leaving millions behind due to injury risks. Players are getting smarter by understanding the Cap Era and that if you are not the top player then you will be fighting for scraps with the leftover cap dollars. This means that the potential of getting paid like a Crosby, for Sedins is few and far in between. Most will be in the range of Higgins and after a few years you will have some rookie going for your job. If you don't have anything to fall back on then you are SOL. I have full respect for the players that opt to finish school and then play the game. if it works out great, you made it. You part of the 1%. If it does not then you still have an Ivy league education that will help you pay your bills.
