If he can get physically stronger, that should help his durability, he could turn out to be a very good winger. seems to be more of a shooter than play maker, which is okay, but I like that he doesn't shy away from confrontation, battling with Getzlaf and whoever he is up against. he just needs to get stronger for the puck battles and dirty areas. |

You have players available in UFA that could help why wait an extra year.
Our forward slots are over crowded as it is why bring him back. I think there was a message and acknowledgement last night between player and fans. - VANTEL
Whatever works. Just don't want to see JB over pay or over commit for the wrong player.
I'd like to see a player like McGinn signed and expect him to get 5 mil ish, 5 years but beyond that, I'm not sure what else is out there. |

I'd be surprised if McCann isn't traded this summer. Benning isn't sold on him in my opinion - CanuckDon
Better make sure Benning signs Demko first before trading McCann. Apparently they are besties. |

JM being the trade chip this offseason, that comment was meant to be a response to you so I'm glad you asked - neem55
I thought so. I like the kid but there are rumours JB doesn't like his attitude. JB has never been afraid to pull the trigger so I see him gone for D this summer |

Interesting, I wasn't aware. Let's just hope Demko gets his sh!t together and signs asap. Playing another year against kids is a bad idea |

Well, we tanked our best. Now for the luck part of the deal. Should be an active summer and I've got a lot of hope for next year. Depending on what Benning puts together and how our kids develop, I think we have a fighting chance at a playoff spot. |

If Etem can start next season like he just finished this season, I think that could be a great line.
Still wondering how Baertchi and Sutter will play together?
Assuming the lines look something like (and BB signs):
Sedins Hansen
Baertschi Sutter _____
Etem Horvat Boeser
Dorsett Granlund ____
JV, JM, starting in Utica? Burrows back?
or if Boeser doesn't sign, Rodin will be playing in that 3rd line wing spot (I forgot about Rodin) - hillbillydeluxe
I was thinking similar last night...
Sedin/Sedin/Hansen
Baer/Sutter/Rodin
JV/Horvat/Boeser
Etem/Granlund/Dorsett
Vey
JM to Utica. Waive Burrows.
Unless we sign Lucic that is. Then things change. |

Some people want to get a real education too so that after hockey you have a sense of what you can do |

I'll be cheering for 2nd and not first. I think Laine has by far the highest ceiling
Ive been saying the same for weeks....the 3 of us agree. I think he's the forward we need.
Adding sergachev would be a slam dunk here too |

If Nux get the first pick no reason why they can't trade it for pieces that whoever has picks two and three would want and get both Finns. Replace Sedins with two Finns same way Burke got twins in the first place. By working it to get both picks back to back. |

wait, he's a guy that was expected to play in junior this year then AHL yet made the nhl and led the team in scoring the 1st 1/4 - 1/3 season. Id say he excelled given he wasnt supposed to be even considered for nhl at this time.
We also dont know what management thinks of granlund either. SO its hard to say.
I like mcann and that goal he got the other night powering around the d man looked great. Id say hes gonna be a good one for us.
But if its say drouin perhaps you do it. |

Well said.
On the topic however these NCAA guys need to realize that they need to strike while the iron is hot as I mentioned a few threads ago. School will always be thereā¦the NHL will not be. One strike and you could be out for some of these NCAA guys. |

Ive said the same before too. I think it may be too hard to achieve that exact 2/3 combo but itd be exciting.
Perhaps the combo could turn out like 3OA & say 8OA and take Laine and sergachev. We'd be well set up with that combo and addresses 2 needs in the organization. Perhaps we could get 1 more asset out of the 1oa as well? |
