EDMONTON SUN: Jim Matheson speculates if Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli trades winger Nail Yakupov “it’ll likely be for a bigger body at forward who plays a different style. Maybe somebody like Marcus Foligno in Buffalo, along with a draft pick.”
SPECTOR’S NOTE: After putting up 20 points in 57 games last season, the 24-year-old Foligno regressed this season with only 23 in 75 games. Perhaps this could be a swap of two players in need of a change of scenery. - adambuffalo

Makarov He said he wasn't happy to a Russian Reporter. - Pope of Pucks
That's fine. For a minute I thought it was someone like Larsson or something. Knew it wasn't Girgs because the site would have crashed.
If/when Johnson leaves I hope him the best. When he came here in the trade with Boston he got a lot of flack (Although the Ochocinco thing was pretty cool) and he just played his game and ended up doing really well. I don't know if he can be a starter in this league, especially at 29, but he's at least been a great back up here. |

The LEGEND, and now CURSE, of John Scott. Maloney Baloney authorized that, Regier left because of it, the team fades and heads roll. It happens. Not too unlike the situation of Nolan last year. Arizona has a chance to be real good and has a pile of poker chips to play. Payroll will likely influence them long-term however.
Arizona is reportedly about to fire their management. Not sure how I feel about that.
Max Domi: 18-34-52
Anthony Duclair: 20-24-44
OEL: 21-34-55
Dylan Strome (CHL): 37-74-111
I get that they didn't make the playoffs again but were they really expected to? They finished 29th I believe last year. This year they finished 24th. As a comparison we finished 30th last year and now finished 23rd.
I feel like they're doing the wrong thing but maybe we're wrong for thinking this is okay? - Zschalberg

I have to believe there was a lot of pressure from the NHL on that one... |

Agree. Bad situation for all parties. Handled poorly by 2 out of the 3 parties involved. I'm not a Scott fan but anyone giving the league the finger is ok in my book.

He's worth a bunch more than your asking price of a late 1st and the Latvian.
And why in the (frank) do we want a severely underachieving Russian? Foligno actually plays a role here, and is good at it. You want to replace him with a Moulson? Cool (frank)ing story right there. |

hes a former first overall pick. I'm willing to take a chance.
Foligno is a 4th line player maybe a third and is easily replaced. If i can get a former 1st overall pick for that. I am all over it. |

I get worked up from trade offers that will bring us a worse player and is only desirable because of past accomplishments/draft status. |

Again, He was a 1st overall pick for a reason. Regardless of the Russian sterotype or not.
Its a low risk high reward situation.
If you can get him on the cheap and basically give him a one year tryout, why not? |

Actually since scouting took a turn in the late 90s' early 2000's and teams started to actually do it, there are none.
its too early to call Yak a bust, he is 20 years old.
Would you take Mike Hoffman from Ottawa on this team? |

Pouliot has outplayed Yak................ enough said.
RNH, Eberle, Hall plus other talent the Oilers have brought in over the years and Yakupov still STINKS. Let another team take that boat anchor. |

Sorry 22. Still a kid and again, if it costs you Foligno and a 3rd. Why would you not do that? |
