Murray and Bylsma are searching high and low for a QB. If the can't trade for Cam Fowler, they should go after Erik Karlsson - yen6d1
Yea, I was gonna say, who's our plan B if we can't get Fowler? The best D man in the NHL? Good planning |

@mjgatas Murray has a ton. Zemgus, Pysyk, Baptiste, 2nd rounder. Sens are about to blow up roster. - yen6d1
Ugh, and this is why the fans here get a bad wrap. |

And then when suggested that the Sabres would have to include a couple first round picks in that trade scenario, he followed up with this beauty....

@Sabres_Fans @mjgatas Murray doesn't trade 1st rounders

When my kid was like 4 or 5 he used to run around down in the basement with a plastic ball and little hockey stick yelling in his best RJ voice "MAXIM AFINOGENOV, MAXIM AFINOGENOV, MAXIM AFINOGENOV, MAXIM AFINOGENOV."
With that Avi, you'll always be ok by me. |

Still not sold on the whole Stamkos idea. I'd prefer to go after a top end winger (Eberle, Hall, Pacioretty, ect), at a lower cost, less risk than Stamkos. I just can't see paying a guy 11+ mill for 6-7 years, who prefers center, to shift over to wing. On top of the fact he's missing a rib, and has blood clot issues. If I'm paying that much, I need a fully intact hockey player. |

Stamkos, free
Eberle, Hall, Pacioretty
Going to cost picks players or prospects.
Hall would cost you Risto
Eberle would cost you Someone on the same caliber as Hamonic
Pacioretty (I already tried Girgensons and a 1st is not good enough) |

1. Stamkos costs nothing but $$, those guys $$ and players
2. Eichel would move to wing - see how he played with O'Reilly at wing the last couple of games
3. Not a rib like you think - a small one, up top, no impact from this
4. Not a blood clot issue like McCormick, this one isn't an issue going forward |

We've got plenty of room money/pick wise to be creative to bring in high end talent. Sinking all of that money into Stamkos assuming that he's going to be fine worries me.
The team is on a solid path right now, and I don't think that we need Stamkos given his circumstances.
Stud winger, stud offensive d-man, and here we go. Yes it will cost, but Murray can get it done. |

If you can guarantee me that Stamkos will be the same , then I'm all in. My gut tells me long term, high dollar contract, .
Is he going to be scared going into corners, play tentative???
I can just see the boards if he does go down, they'll be looking for Murray's head on a spike. |

If it came down to a decision between Eichel, ROR, and Stamkos i think ROR goes to wing
Eichel was drafted to be our #1C for the next 15 years...moving him now just slows down his progress
Stamkos may or may not demand to stay at C if he were to come here...not worth upsetting
ROR just seems to be the odd man out...in a pinch (or when we really need a faceoff) he can shift back into C |

Reinhart can teach him the finer points of Wing after practice. |

Why would we make our future captain in ROR an odd man out??? Why shift Eichel, just doesn't make sense to bring in Stamkos to disrupt the good that we have going. |
