There were rumors that that's why don Maloney was fired because he was trying to trade OEL to whoever wins number one because mattews is from Phoenix and the desperately need a number one centre. Since then though looks like that offer is off the table

And last draft the panel were talking about how close mattews was to being in that draft and if he was, that he might have gone before eichel. Not mcdavid caliber but probably better then most number 1 picks in the last 5 years before mcdavid

JB & Co would be wise to announce a couple of NCAA signings shortly after the post mortem. Regardless how high the team drafts, it's going to be a tough sell and long summer for the team.

I kind of think that too. Hopefully Van didn't waste a first round pick on him. I don't really like that if your drafted by a team you don't have to sign and sign with another team. The player should have to wait till he is traded to play in the NHL.

If van is going to draft a Finn this year. I see Boeser as almost expendable. How many top 6 RW can you have.

If we are going to pick T3 then BPA is the way. Outside of T3 or 1OA we are looking at D as per JB. Hard to say what TL and WD think but really FA has the final call. If 1OA is ours Laine might be the way to go...but 2OA or 3OA is ok too. This is the year for the franchise talent with T3. Outside of T3 we are basically getting 3rd pairing D to start. WD, TL, JB and FA will all have to be on board. Looks like we are losing RM and will have to bring in DC or AA to coach the goalies which is fine. But GMMG should be commended for Horvat. AV will be available again after the Rags are punted 1rd but really when it comes right down to it...JB will go BPA with T3 then D outside of T3...TL, WD and FA may not like it...but that's TFB.

No, simply not true. If he dominates next year he can only be signed by the canucks after the season. He will be an RFA again. The year after would be a problem.

i would not be surprised or have a problem with Tkchuck at #4 if thats where we pick. i know Benning has in the past suggested D choice , but he also said he believes Tkchuck to be the best in this draft class from the dots down
