I didn't see or hear any of what you just wrote, funny how people can listen to the same message and have completely different takeaways.

BTW Lefty -

Dreger asked Benning "who is the one player you can see making the Canucks next year"

Benning answered "Auston Matthews"

I saw that on Twitter, Dreger texted him about one young player he can absolutely see making the team next year and he text back Matthews.

Re:Jim Benning,

It's how he expresses himself, or lack there of, that forms my opinion that he's an idiot...in general. I've said all along he's very good at collecting youth; Virtanen, McCann, Baertschi, Etem, Boeser, Demko, Tryamkin all in less than two years.

That's better than Gillis did in five! Sure there's no "highend" kids there but some really impactful ones when you look at a team as a whole.

Benning says poop one day and then contradicts it the next month or two down the line....he's an idiot. He shouldn't be allowed to be interviewed or have pressers anymore.

I agree. I don't have any confidence in this management team but that will change with a great draft and some solid off-season moves.

As always, we'll wait and see.

He's excellent at collecting youth thru draft, thus far, I'll give him that! His articulation leaves much to be desired.
- LeftCoaster

Why do you care if he is articulate? You think he a moron because he is a terrible public speaker? I'm a poor public speaker and had straight A's through UNI. He is a scout and talent evaluator i don't give a (frank) if he stutters when he speaks. I care about his drafting

I like Linden, he's got a ton of league experience and he's got a vision towards the future. I believe he can see the big picture, regarding building, and speaks to it quite well.

We expect that kind of wishy-washy stance from a politician, not an executive of a high profile for-profit business.

Umm...no, I think he's a moron because his thoughts are a jumbled mess, it only exacerbates the problem that he has issues trying to convey a jumbled message.

The scout and talent evaluator I totally agree with, for the most part, however, it is my opinion he has no idea how to "build" a team.

I hope in the next two or three years he can continue to put an excellent collection of youth together....and then he'll be fired so someone else can build around that youth.

I just don't know how much these guys can really say, anything they do say and the media wants to find a hole in it and rip it apart. I guess it is just the market.

laying in bed this morning, listening to the flighty 1040, it is funny hearing Pratt say the Leafs are doing it right because they are committed to the rebuild and just signed Kadri and Rielly.

Then Pratt goes on to say it is a business and you can't expect the Canucks to tank and not sell tickets. I don't know how many sides to his mouth he can talk out of

JB is here for his drafting, I am not sure if some GM's tried to take advantage of him at tdl and instead of grabbing his ankles he flipped them the bird and this might pay off for him later or is just a sign of things to come?

Draft lottery can't happen soon enough.

I agree with everything you say. I come here for the laughs. I will be more serious about my posting in regards to hockey/canucks talk closer to the 30th. Right now the verbal poop that is spewing here is just great

I really didn't listen to specific answers yesterday. The goal is to make playoffs every year, while getting younger.

I caught a boss on an inconsistency once and questioned him about it, his response, "I wouldn't say it if I didn't think it was true, but things change so you can't always hold me to my word."

I think there was a change in direction from above him, but to his credit, he didn't throw his own boss under the bus. and then again, don't trust anyone.
