If being in the rink was still fun, despite a poor on-ice product, I would be happy to go. The management is embarking on re-whatever and is risking losing fans through a weaker team, they should do the same with the in-house material too. Be edgy and fun, make it a place or event that people want to go to. I couldn't care less about MLS or soccer but for me the price of admission is worth it just for being in the crowd for a Whitecaps game. Canucks need to look into something in that department to keep interest in the next couple years - WhiteLie
Hookers. Oops! I mean, cheerleaders.
I've been to the UK, I've got to say making up stupid songs about players and getting drunk with friends and singing them along with thousands of others is incredibly fun.

Unfortunately the North American culture doesn't embrace alcohol like the Europeans do. That and the passion they have for their teams is engrained into them from birth, I wish I felt as strongly for anything as some of those Englishmen feel for soccer
It's a fine line. Trevor did say he has trust in Benning and is really happy with the job he has done.
I think Canucks do get two substantial players this year.
I tell you I am looking forward to this year. Removing Burrows Higgins and hopefully Hamhuis and replacing them with point producing players , I think we will be a lot better - VANTEL

HEY EVERYONE ---- I tried my best but that website I chose to use the pool would not accept any other teams than mine. So the good news is that I won the Pool! The bad news, sorry, but I just dont know how to fix it.

I think you're right but for a lot of fans they need a secret decoder ring to figure out what these two are talking about. That why the media have a field day with these two. JB at the table and Linden in the hall... - bloatedmosquito
I can see how people can't make heads or tails of what they are hearing specially if they are not in the habit of figuring stuff out for themselves. I'm a firm believer in observing what the management does etc rather than what they are telling the media and fans. Even if the management team was fully transparent... it only take one member of the media claiming the team is contradicting it's plan and even if it's baseless or because of a special set of circumstances... the phone lines would light up with confused people. What are you going to do? More people are like that than not...

My first impression is Linden wanted to give Benning the floor to speak. So I didn't understand the hallway interview. I don't think it is anything more than Linden wanted to tie up the not so clear Benning interview - VANTEL
That makes a lot of sense. So does sending Benning to a speech camp.
No way. The saddledome is so (frank)ing quiet it's scary. Only time it's loud is when they score a goal. Same with Air Canada Centre except they also go bananas when they play stompin tom.
During the days of the west coast express GM place was loud. Really loud. And because of the configuration players always said the crowd feels right on top of you. During the cup run it was crazy. Bedlam inside that building.
Rogers Arena does have a problem now but I truly believe it's a product of the pricing scale imposed on this fan base. - bloatedmosquito
Thank you, and I agree wholeheartedly, the generalizations that get bantered about really surprise me at times...if enough people say it....repeatedly, well it must be true. Even when those who really know and deny the BS, we have 1040, the Vancouver Sun, The Province, every blog and so called hockey connected source, making speculation for truth.
I don't get what everyone deal is. The plan is get younger get faster get better. Build for the future and try to transition without being Edmonton or Toronto. Add a piece here and there bring up a new core. I can see the process but the defence is lacking. I don't think Benning is a moron. Some of the smartest guys I know can't articulate their thoughts under pressure. Some of the biggest idiots I ever met could BS everyone until they realized they were Dbags. The road is long people.

nice one. Also I agree, some people will never be good at public speaking. Who cares, that's not his job title.
and we see he actually likes rodin.... - SMBDragon
I'm not sure I buy him disliking "gillis picks" I think he likes big players and to let d-men/forwards develop in the AHL. Bo is a Gillis pick and JB seems to love him. Same with Hutton. Rodin and Tram seem to also be guys he's pretty keen on.
