If the Flyers end up picking like 18-20, he wouldn't be the worst pick -- might actually be one of the better ones there. I don't love Jones, but I see what there is to like.

He's got a tantalizing size and skill package. I'm not a "draft sizzzze" guy, but he can absolutely fly and is always very engaged. His IQ isn't great though, and there's a long history of teams spending a first on prototypical power forwards with slightly underwhelming stats and questions about IQ, only to see them fail to develop into the next Lucic or Simmonds or Backes...all who weren't even drafted in the first fwiw. Devil's advocate says Jones was on a stacked team and wasn't deployed with the great usage others were. I buy that. There's a lot to like....I just think there's better where they might pick. I think Bellows is a smarter, more natural goal scoring, albeit less dynamic version of Jones if that's the desired player type.

Gauthier looks beastly. But man oh man, what a log jam that would create at RW. They really almost have to go LW in this draft so long as the BPA isn't hugely more high on their rankings. We have sooooo many C's and RW's
