Apparently you and MOAT know about Kessel and hotdogs. I need to do more research before I post lame jokes... |

Hurt. His skating right now just obviously isn't the same, and that hurts the other parts of his game. And it probably nips away at his confidence. Early on in the season, when he struggled, he looked good, got his chances, but was bit by horrid luck and waning confidence.
As much as some neglect it, he was over a ppg pace in the 34 games or so before injury. He found his game again. Only for a LBI to happen. Now he's scoring at his early season rate while looking worse in terms of chances. Tough season. I remember reading that his injury might've been season ending if it wasn't for the race. - Mononoke
well you have to respect that then. not that any team would turn one down, but the flyers could definitely use a winger with a shoot first mentality. a less douchey james neal would be a nightmare. |

for all his good, kessel cant help that his appearance is always gonna make him a walking punch line. he looks like someone who would sooner star in an episode of to catch a predator or work at kinkos than someone who is one of the fastest humans in the world on skates. |

Kieffer Bellows is a name Flyers fans should acquaint themselves with. He's maybe the second best pure goal scorer in the draft and could be a target pick. He'd be near the top of my list at 15-17. |

Good for him. I'm in favor of more Babe Ruth-type professional athletes, dudes who get it done on the ice (field) and then will share a beer (or 6) with you as long as you buy some wings and everything fries. |

Knew Caps were gonna be tough , thought Ghost really struggled, don't know what he was doing when Vorachek had the giveaway and fell as after he fell Ghost kept skating to Bench?? For all his hockey smarts he sure blew that one as he was right beside Beagle and let him go in and then score. Gonna be tough playoffs are a different game then regular season. Great to see Ghost, Cousins, Manning, and probably Laughton now get some playoff experience. Losing Coots is gonna be tough. Have to have Mason steal us a game and get some help from Giroux and Voracheck.
Besides buying out Umberger may have to take some of Streits salary next year as well but his best days are done.

Bill, what's your gut telling you about Couts? - wolfhounds
He was in a lot of pain as he left the ice. Still seemed in pain after the game and his arm was in a sling. My gut instinct tells me he may be out for the series.

Mason did his part to steal the Flyers a game. Hard to steal one with zero goals of support. |

mason was pretty goddamn spectacular. first goal really sucked. and there were quite a few should have beens that he made sure werent. mason could steal them an entire series. he just mathematically needs at least a little help. |

listen, I love Wayne Simmonds and I love when a teammate responds from a big hit and drops the glove.
But....
what the (frank) was simmonds thinking in that situation? |
|
|
|
Your right Bill Mason did his part, we need powerplay to get going.Mason has been good all year, even though Vorachek fell and Ghost pooped the bed on that play we still need to score a goal or two. |

They still should've gotten two minutes regardless of a fight. The ref giving Simmonds an additional two for roughing was totally and utterly baseless. One of the absolute worst calls I've seen this year.
Wilson boards a guy and instigates a fight. Where does that ref get off giving off setting penalties? |

I don't have a problem with it. Simmonds sends a message for game 2. We're down a man. We were generating absolutely nothing. We can't allow Tom Wilson to run around out there. |

Even outside of the instigating minor, why would Simmonds open himself up to a five minute penalty with six minutes left in the game? It makes absolutely no sense. |
