Flyers played well tonight. Couple different bounces, and this game could look different.

Not enough offense. Fluky goal to break Holtby's string of shutout minutes. Crap PP. G looking incredibly average. etc.

They have to go home, steal game 3 and go from there, hope they can snatch game 4 and get the Caps back on their heels going back to Washington.

Clearly the Flyers have a scoring problem, so let's see if Med helps any. There is nothing to lose by getting him in a game.

I think PPL are over reacting. I mean the Flyers were playing good and had a lot of pressure on the Caps in 1st 2 periods. Flyers get into trouble in 3 Areas.

1) PP isnt scoring, they has some great chances tonight though

2) PK stinks. Caps have 3 PPG in 2 games so far. That is half the GA.

3) Penalties. With a PK that is this bad you cant afford to take penalties. Streit and Manning are killing the team so far due to their PIMS!

I think Flyers win next game at home. Flyers for whatever reason are a bad road team.

Even with the flub, Mason made some amazing saves, and the Caps missed an open net or two. The Flyers were lucky the game was as close as it was til the end. And seriously, why pull the (frank)ing goalie at the end of this game? Makes no sense.

Until the Sharks win a cup, they're under-achievers. So come back and talk poop then about that team. And I'm a fan, I was living out there when that franchise played its first game.

Caps are the far better team but it's gotta be frustrating to be down 2-0 when we've only outplayed you 3 out of the 6 periods. Flyers are here a year early, no reason to be that upset losing this series.

They are but at least they've made the conf finals numerous times. Caps and Blues can't even say that.

I think the Caps PP is just that good. Don't want to take penalties against this team, they will make you pay.

Love how Mullen (what took you so long?) and Hakstol made adjustments this game. It really showed, score aside.

But as Charlie over at BSH mentioned, Lappy came up short. Zero adjustments. Just the same passive bunched up penalty killing: story of the season. Hopefully they tweak it for Monday. They're good, but you can make them god like if you make no effort to push up on them.

We'll see. A couple other western conference teams might have something to say about that.

I thought the (lack of) goalie pull was mismanaged by Hak. He sent his top line out with a little over 3 minutes left on an offensive zone face-off and didn't pull the goalie. Then, when they changed, he put the 4th line out. He should have pulled the goalie and given his top unit two shifts with the goalie pulled because they were down by 2 goals.

Hak has been conservative with pulling the goalie, but in that case, you've just gotta roll the dice to give yourself a chance.

If the Flyers are knocked out of the playoffs, you just named the two teams I hope make it to the finals. The hits alone would make that an awesome series.

Dallas's defense and goaltending is god damn pathetic I don't think they'd out last the sharks in a 7 game series. Anaheim... might be tough but doable. The Sharks would be able to handle the Hawks and Blues easily

Who knows, maybe Hak is cracking a bit under the pressure, first time on the biggest hockey stage there is and he's working with a less than ideal lineup.

Either way, the holes on this team are being highlighted and noted by Hexy as the series moves along. That is one thing that makes this much more bearable.

It's a mistake made by several coaches still. If you're down two goals with under 4 minutes and you have an offensive zone face-off with your top line rested, you should always pull the goalie.

Do you start Neuvirth against his old team to shake things up?
