which makes his production more impressive imo. they know what he's going to do but they can't stop him.

i would hesitate to say this... he played in all 82 games the last two years and wasnt able to crack 30 goals in either of them

other teams are starting to figure out how to defend against him... and maybe he's losing a step as he gets older as well? though i think its a bit early to start saying that about him

They have storen.
- Fakepartofme

Storen (not Osuna because he was used yesterday in a non save situation) came in the 9th with a 3 run lead. It's now a one run lead with a man on and Big Poopi coming to the plate.

Still - why is Gibby using Osuna yesterday? He's their closer for a reason.

I do not, have not and probably will never have faith in Gibbons.

I know - that's why I was laughing at him the whole time. I'm not sure anyone holds up Farrell as a top tier baseball manager.

Their lack of bunting is the only thing that really confuses me. The guys at the bottom of their lineup should at least know how to bunt.

I try to, I really try. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for that loss when he tried to have Arnoldo Leon in to save really early in the season, and the Jays' analysts (with their Rogers paycheques) were all 'it's early he needs to see what he has'. Then a week later, Girardi overworks Betances/Miller vs the Jays and they're all like 'Girardi knows it's early in the year but a win is a win - that's why they pay these horses.' The double standard of Gibby apologies is frustrating.

sure...but still wins a world series in 2013..which is why managers get to much poop when stuff doesnt work and praise when it does...

and yet he has a ring. not saying he's amazing, just saying you can win as long as your team is good. the importance of a good manager is overrated

To a degree, sure. At the same time, I think over-valuing the unimportance of a good manager is also overrated

I'm parroting someone here but a conversation I had with a buddy who is far more into baseball made an interesting point about Gibbons. I asked him what he thought of him as a manager and he said one thing he measures managers by is if they get fired from a team, do they ever get work again with another club? Gibbons was fired by the Jays once before and never got hired again until they hired him.

Maybe the rest of the league sees something.

You really think the Kadri signing is not a good thing?
- 1979AD

I never said that.
I wanted him for no more than 4.5......Lou did great.
Great cap hit and term.

Makes him a good tradable asset.
