They've been flying radiation reading helicopters over Boston for the last couple days to get a normal reading. That doesn't instill much confidence

It's a huge holiday in Mass. Only businesses that are open at finance ones. I took the day off so I'll be by the finish line！

I'd be more worried if they were using unmanned aircraft for that.

I'll never forget 3 years ago

The worst part was the fact that they shut down on cell phone calls (they can be used as triggers so I'm glad they did), but I couldn't get a hand of my sister, brother, and cousins who I knew where at the finish line.

It was a terrifying 30-45 minutes till I heard from them.

ah man hope she was "relatively" unaffected. Being through it you know even if it didn't immediately affect you it still matters/affects you

My family got super lucky.

My sister was supposed to be right next to the first bomb, to see her friend cross the finish line but couldn't get there. Her two friends got hit bad. Then when she couldn't get to the finish line decided to go the Forum, which was where the 2nd one went off. There was a table out front but there was a 25$ cover per person and they said no and went next door those are joy tears

So (frank)ing lucky

Wow.... im glad she didn't get hurt, or even worse. It's a (frank)ed up world. My sister heard the gunshots and hid under a desk during the Charlie Hebdo thing.. she was on the same block. My stepmom is from N. Ireland and she was in Omagh during the bombing.. same situation, she was supposed to be in the church that got hit, it was her neices wedding rehearsal. Her neice's entire body is scarred and the flower girl was killed.
