I completely get that the rule was properly interpreted... and completely agree that for close plays there shotuld be a review...

but the league who "tinkers" so much wit the rules should be quick to respond to addressing an issue when - such as this case - the manner in which the rule is written is just plain stupid.

If they give the on ice officials the "final say" over the recommendation of the review committee TOronto - that's how it NEEDS to work. Then you simply wouldn't get these dumb situations.

And for everyone's sake - put a time limit on how quickly the review has to be completed. If it takes more than three minutes to review... move on.

Why not? Look at baseball. They never brought in video review for balls and strikes even though pitch tracker shows when umps get calls wrong.

I'd rather go with linesman call than wait ten minutes for a review of a play that might have happened well before a goal is called.

Baseball is a completely different sport...


If you can't wait 10 minutes (even though most reviews are much shorter) for them to get the right call, then that's your problem. A team's season shouldn't be lost just because a few impatient fans can't sit still for 10 minutes...

I watched that Blues Hawks game ... it was a great game - really entertaining... losts of scoring chances.. both ways.
