Instead of Stamkos what about going after Eriksson and Kreider?
Top 9 could be:
Kane-ROR-Eirksson
Kreider-Eichel-Reinhart
Foligon-Larsson-Gionta
This frees up Ennis,Girgensons and picks for trades for d-men. - ImThatGuy
1) Eriksson turns 31 this summer.
With the length deal he'll command, he's not a good fit for us.
2) I like Kreider a lot. I'd go after him in a trade regardless of whether or not we signed Stamkos.
If they did trade Kreider, I'm guessing they'd want a pretty good return. Bc of Nash's contract, we could probably get him cheaper, & I'd guess NYR would rather move him than Kreider.
A similar player I like is Tom Wilson, but I doubt the Caps would move him.
3) Ennis & Girgensons just don't have the value to get us a top pair defenseman.
Since we already have Bogosian, & McCabe is progressing nicely, I just don't see the point in bringing in a 2nd pair type guy via trade or free agency.
We might have to wait till next offseason to find a long term partner for Risto, when teams will have to get rid of some guys bc of the expansion draft
Are we "trendsetters" for this anti-offsides review crap?
Joking, obviously, but I wonder who got hit with that stupid crap first this year, only to see it become such an issue this postseason now. Came to mind because Yahoo has a big article up about it:

We need a top line RW, Eriksson fits that role.
If he gets a 4 year deal it is fine.
Ennis and Girgensons, we don't know what they get on the open market. Too many factors still at play, including the most important one, the salary cap.

Source of mine seems to think that wild Tyrod Taylor 3 way trade offer isn't just smoke. Seems to actually have some legs. At least, the 2nd overall for Tyrod part is being considered at this point.
FWIW.
And for the record, I've called it bullpoop since it came out.
