I didn't like their deadline moves at all from the outset. That core is aging, and the supporting cast is dwindling. They might get another shot or two, but the end is near IMO.

They had Richard Panik playing with Ladd and Toews at times... they're (frank)ed.

Washington got Kuznetsov at #25 overall. Carlson at #27 overall. They drafted forsberg outside the top 10. (Bonehead trade after but that's not scoutings fault)

Now they have that young Vrana who is 19 or 20 and PPG center in the AHL this year. He's on the way and another pick outside the top 10

Their D depth is atrocious. It's amazing they won the cup last year by riding their top 4 so hard.

Then Montreals awesome prospect and highly offensive Sherbak has 7 goals in 48 games. Must be taking lessons from de la rose.

Pretty disturbing when all our local newspapers kept featuring Morgan Ellis all year

Scherbak is 20, Kuznetzov turns 24 in a month. Not saying it's a sure shot with him, but let's give the kid some time to develop.

It's been a rough year for him, first as a pro, started it with an ankle injury at training camp, they had to shut him down for a while to allow him to heal.

We'll see in 3 years where he's at.

It's kind of funny that everyone talks about drafting and development as the only way to build a cup winner yet the past 6 cup winners have added major pieces via trade or free agency.

excuse for inept GMs. gives them their 5 year run while allowing them to post absolutely no results.
