"The Chiarelli Era had more highs than lows for the Bruins, especially with the club’s on-ice product, but one overwhelming problem lingered, even after Chiarelli’s exit, and it actually may have been one of the main reasons for his exit. That was his love for ‘his guys’. Chiarelli often traded for his former Ottawa talents, and re-signed his Boston guys to slightly above market value on a fairly routine basis."
Got this from the Bruins thread.......sounds a little Bergevin-ish to me..... |

Of course....but I was really just hitting the aspects of "previous club" and overpaying the "Gool Ol' Boys" for doing squat.
How can we have like 67 million tied up with our current roster? Wow! |

Absolutely!! Imagine the situation if we didn't!? We have just under 12 million tied up in Eller DD and Emelin. All overpaid and in some cases offered more than they asked for!??
This season couldn't end fast enough. If you ask me, Molson needs to sell the team to someone who cares more about hockey and the tradition and respek, than putting asses in the seats. Then the new owner can fire MB and MT as his first order of business. |

i think Petry would have gotten the same contract as a UFA. don't have a huge problem with it because i think he's a quality 22-minute guy. i more have a problem with him committing long term to mediocre players like Eller, DD, Byron, Mitchell, Emelin. |

Oh I forgot about Michigan J. Mullet!!
Thanks for reminding me.......
How can we NOT be successful when we rob Buffalo's 4th line and Edmonton's 3rd pairing?? And of course the secret pipeline waiver wire |

that was my favourite one. not only was he mediocre to begin with but he was also coming off a crippling injury.
Byron is also fun becasue you have to imagine the amount of other GMs who were willing to offer him that term to pry him away from the habs was probably 0. |

But you have to jump on signing Byron ASAP!! Man, if he couldn't make Calgary's roster....just think of all the other teams he's NOT qualified for!? |

no, Molson should hire someone to work between him and Bergevin. this organization needs some front office competence somewhere. |

When Emelin was signed to his ridiculous contract, he was still limping and nowhere near coming back even. I'm pretty sure the moment MB was hired, this organization got instantly dyslexic. |

All joking aside, I think Calgary could have used Byron this season, but yes...there was no urgency to put him under contract...him and most of all Plekanec. |

Absolutely! I've been saying this for some time now to friends and family. They need a "President of Hockey Operations". Someone to babysit MB so he doesn't stick a fork in a light socket or ........show up to work! |
