We shouldn't think so, but I have to admit, I am a little leery of the Leafs throwing 10+ at himi for 7 years (or 8 if they trade for his rights). - Aetherial
That's my caveat with the Flyers. I want him at 10 or below. Anything over then I am ok losing out.

It's really a shame that a great man, who did as much as anyone for the game of hockey, gets more respect from the franchise's biggest rival than he gets from his own fan base. |

This talk of "this guy stinks", "this guy's over the hill", etc. ... is ridiculous.
The results we are seeing in this series are a function of the mismatch between the Flyers and the Caps... in talent, in experience, and in energy expended to get to the playoffs. If anything, I credit the Caps for taking the Flyers seriously enough to take advantage of every little thing the Flyers are doing wrong... believe it or not, I see that as a sign of respect from the Caps to the Flyers.
I'm sorry for repeating myself, but this is why it was *great* for the Flyers to make the playoffs this year... no expectations on winning, and you get schooled (including the coach, even where he should get Adams consideration for the regular season) on how to play in the playoffs by the best team in the league. The young players and coach will learn their lessons this year, and they'll likely be better for it starting next year and beyond (hopefully in the playoffs each year). Don't get me wrong - I wasn't hoping before the series that they'd get wiped out like this... but now that they are, let them suck it up and be able to tap on this experience going forward.
Let's go Flyers. |

There were people up in arms that some Penguins moron yelled Flyers suck during a moment of silence for Ed Snider. Then last night happens.... Absurd. |

We don't have $10m in cap space unless we are trading Schenn and Gudas for picks. |

I've been a fan since 1971. I've seen the good and the bad. I absolutely love the Flyers. - nastyflyergirl
Same, except I joined the party at the end of the '72-'73 season.
Due to the actions of some of the fans last night, I am embarrassed to be known as a fan. |

We have ten million next season and that doesn't count Vinny's money coming off the books.
Also not included if they buyout Umberger. And I do believe Read and a defenseman could be moved.
Edit: Also I am not sure what will happen with Schenn. I am sure Hextall will try to sign him at what he feels is the correct term. But if Schenn is looking for something he isn't comfortable with then I do think they would look to move him. |

I know Bellamare isn't typically a dirty player, but that hit could have easily paralyzed Orlov. Then what? Real black eye for the franchise last night. No sugar coating it. - PLindbergh31
Imho, it was accidental and unfortunate. Fortunately Orlov didn't seem any worse for the wear. Bellmare will probably be suspended for game four. It's a pretty easy one for the league to be able to say "see, we're enforcing this stuff" plus there's no risk of backlash for the league for suspending a star in the playoffs. |

Or he is hurt, which is my guess.
27 or 47, if you play the number of games, and with the amount of effort they needed to play at to secure a spot in the playoffs, its going to take its toll. - jak521
I think he's just not durable enough and doesn't stack up well against tight checking physical teams... 1 playoff series win in this many years is pretty bad. He's not getting younger and his value ain't going up. |

That's how I saw it. I don't even think he intend to hit him. Orlov was going to take the puck up the boards away from bellemare but bailed out once he saw vandevelde coming. Bellemare continued his path and got orlov from behind. Correct call, probably a game suspension. But not dirty.
I thought the chicken wing elbow from Wilson on Voracek should be reviewed. If the NHL is all against head shots. |

I don't think Bellemare was thinking let me run Orlov head first into the boards, but it was as reckless as reckless gets. Jones was saying last night he expects a healthy suspension. I knew the Flyers were going to lose this series, I didn't think they would be getting embarrassed like this. The special teams are impossible to watch. |

Thanks Bill. I turned the game off after it was 3 to 1 last night. After seeing the final score, I am glad that I had done so. It's a shame when the team has to lose at home like that. The team as a whole hasn't played well in the last two games. As Bill mentioned, they seem to play strong for short periods of time, however they just can't put together a complete game. I don't blame Mason at all. I know that he allowed a bad goal last game, however he didn't lose the game for the team. In addition, he sometimes has a tendency to follow the team, and does not lead the team, or stand on his usual head. But, in his defense he has gotten very little support in this series. We keep seeing the same gap problems, poor line changes, inability to clear the puck, nobody in front of the net, turnovers, etc... This is where a vocal leader like Pronger is missed. He wouldn't have settled for this type of play over, and over again. I keep harping on the forwards for their lack of effort in their own zone. Last night we witnessed the D joining their lack of play with the sloppy turnovers. There is plenty of blame to go around. I hope that Hexy can draft/sign some forwards that can go to the net, smartly, and be the next John LeClair. Finally, if they brought up CMcD, then play him, and sit White. Bill, can you review the potential draft picks, and UFA's the team may go after? |

DPS doesn't even know his name before last night. He'll get one game because it's easy for them to do. |
