I gave mine to my 2 yr old son. I'm sure it entertained him for 25 seconds. |

I think you are looking at it very glass half empty...more like glass is almost completely empty - YuenglingJagr
2nded.
There's enough talent, ethic, and veteran presence on the forward corp. I'll agree that you have about 3-4 great players, and then a big drop off. That's not too hard to rectify. You'll lose players like Umberger and Streit to free up cap. You'll look to trade a player like Read and maybe Raffl, if there's takers. In the meantime, you keep building through draft / overseas / and the occasional college FA. When the young defenseman are ready to compete, you pick up a player like TJ Oshie and Mike Richards. Before you know it, you're ready to compete.
It might not be the same trajectory that the Caps or other teams took, but this team isn't that far off. And as demoralizing as this series has been, offensive-wise, it doesn't mean we need to blow up the forwards. |

JVR says hi!
How's Luke?
 - .HOHO.
JVR is well rested and able to wave without hurting his foot, I see. I suppose he's saying hi from his box in Chicago watching little bro. |

Not to bring it back to the fanbase, etc; but I feel compelled. If this was a 3-2 loss or something that wasn't a shellacking, I don't think those bracelets come down. Then again, if they didn't give out the bracelets; I also don't think fans are grabbing the closest thing (hot dog, tshirts, etc) either. It just seemed like a perfect storm of:
A.) This team is playing god-awfully right now
B.) Why the hell would I bring this bracelet home?
C.) I can't hold my liquor and just paid $120 to get drunk.
D.) I'm too scared to think for myself and do much better in a mob mentality. - steelydan
This is a much better explanation than MOATs. Just because people pay more for their seats doesn't mean they don't care or have some type of rich entitlement attitude. |

The leafs are starting to build it correctly, but I'm pretty sure that with the prospects we have and the mass amount of picks we have this draft were on the path as well. I'm not sure about the core either, but I suspect that if we don't surround the forwards with 4th liners and d prospects with guys better slotted in the 5 6 hole, we'd see a better result. No guarantees, but I believe that's the plan
I'll also note that the pp and pk have me worried. - Hextall271
What forwards are the concern going forward? Maybe I'm naive because the top line is being shut down by a vezina winning goalie and a very good tandem in Niskanen and alzner. Raffl needs to be on the third line. Read looks finished. Gagner won't be resigned.
Hexy has work to be done but he isn't going to rip out the foundation like Homer with richards and carter

I wouild remind every person here that uses a credit card and doesn't pay it off every month that you too have things you cannot afford. - bodiva88
what about being in line at the grocery store watching the person in front of you pay for their groceries with their ACCESS card and leaving in their BMW or Mercedes. |

Then it's a good thing that I pay off my credit card (as does my wife) every month.
That said, there's a difference between unforseen circumstances (say, your heater breaking 2 months after buying a house) and frivolous spending on luxuries outside of your means. |

I wonder when the last time a teams top two leading scorers had less points combined in a series then the opposing goaltender?
Top of my head I'm thinking 1987 Gretzky and Kurri were outscored in the series vs. the Winnipeg Jets by Pokey RedRichard. |

Regarding the forward core I'd say it's not complete. Ideally Raffl is on your 3rd line.
Konecny is a possible guy but undersized. |

I almost got into a fight with a guy at a deli a few years back...
Ordered a bunch of lunch meat and cheese, and while they were cutting I shopped around for other stuff....
Some scummer with a cigarette tucked behind his ear approaches me and says " Hey just heard you order. Are you paying in cash?"
Totally caught me off guard so I hesitantly answered "I dont know. Why?"
He told me that he would let me use his ACCESS card if I gave him $30 cash.
I blew my lid. In front of about 20 people loudly told him to get lost. Told the manager that he was trying to get cash in exchange for using his ACCESS card. |

I agree...
Konecny has a ton of skill, speed and grit. He will be fine in the top 6.
Hell, I think a line of him with Couts and Schenn could be really good second line. Should open things up for the top line too..

For better or worse I think hexy has identified 5 of his top 6 forwards for next season. The question is does he try to ease konency in that role or fill externally. Isn't that oshie a ufa? Obvious north Dakota connection

The Coyotes just bought the Springfield AHL team and are moving them down here to Tucson. There is one sheet of ice in town that the University Of Arizona uses, and my men's league uses for 10 games a year. I'm really hoping that with the arrival of the AHL team, my men's league doesn't get pushed out.
I'll honestly have to start looking for somewhere else to live. |

I thought you were going to say you almost belted someone for calling a sandwich a "hoagie". That is certainly grounds for hauling off and blasting someone. |
