As classless as it was, I wouldn't have had nearly as much of a problem with it if it hadnt been Ed snider tribute night - funmaster18
For me, this is the problem. Kind of hard to throw stones at Pitt late last week, end there is egg on our faces this week. |

Flyers need to make some changes in the off season
Out: Gagner, Read, Streit, Cousins, Medvedev
In: 2nd line LW, Konecny and 1 speedy 3rd line C
Keep Umberger. I am not sold on a buyout. I mean why buy him out and keep a 1.5 cap hit the year after? Not convinced that the space will be worth it next season.
My lineup:
Voracek - G - Simmonds
Erikkson - Couturier - Schenn
M.Raymond - Raffl - Konecny
VDV - PEB - White
AMac - Ghost
MDZ - Shultz
Gudas - Manning
Mason
Neuvirth
That leaves the option of a D prospect taking over a full time spot. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I don't know if I can deal with another season of Manning and Vandevelde. I like Ryan White but our 4th line as a whole just isn't good enough. Where is Laughton and why is Cousins out?
I would offer one of Laughton or Cousins to the Jackets for Rychel. In a heartbeat. |

Not a fan of either Laughton or Cousins. I feel like Cousins is the better of the 2. If I am CBJ though I do not trade Rychel's jock strap for either of those 2. I am willing to give Vanevelde and Manning another chance as they have been pretty good imo in this series. The 4th line has had pressure on the caps and Manning has been solid aside from that awful penalty in Game 1.... Plus if Manning sucks, it is easy to get one of the prospects in. Worst case I think Alt could be ready. Hell maybe we get another Ghost miracle and one gets called up to cover an injury and steals a job.
That being said Medvedev does need to play Game 4 over Streit. His slowness and 6 mins of penalties are hurting the team |

Gagner can actually fit in nicely in a secondary scoring role but he doesn't mesh well with the current players on the Flyers roster. With the right linemates his finishing ability and hands can be effective. He'll probably want to resign in the 2.5-4M range which I don't think makes sense for the Flyers. |

I would trade Streit 100% for anything. I would trade Matt Read too but he's a useful penalty killer and a decent defensive forward. I'm not so sure Laughton and Cousins have a place here, maybe not both at least. I would trade one of Laughton or Cousins for Rychel in Columbus, a natural young Left Winger with an edge. |

Wishful thinking.
Like I said before - Streit to me is untrade-able. Read as well IMO unless he comes back in September flying around like the player we remember as a rookie.

I know it's 3-1 but it's St. Louis and Chicago. No one should have much confidence that the blues seal the deal. I hope they do, that would be good news for the 2nd rounder we have of theirs this year. |

You buy out Umberger if (and only if) the NHL mandates that all players with NMCs must be protected for expansion, as he'd take up a slot. If that's not the case and/or he agrees to waive his NMC, then yeah, you keep him.
Also, if we're bringing in a "speedy 3rd line C," why the hell is Raymond playing the wing? Wouldn't the need be for a "speedy 3rd line LW?"
If Gagner will accept a $2M or less deal for one year, I'd resign him. Can step in and provide some extra offense. |
