I don't get what tyrod is expecting. It's impossible to give him another contract until the start of the season. |

Agreed ...... and I never implied anything otherwise. At 25-26 he's playing for another team. |

Team offers him a 7 year max offer after his ELC expires, they match, and trade him prior to where a NMC/NTC can kick in and get a boatload for him.
Like I said they have all the leverage, at least for the next 7-8 years.
No brainer. - dadeadhead
Great ............ at 25-26 he leaves. I don't care when. |

They can give him one right now. He wasn't tagged and I believe even tagged players can still negotiate for another few weeks for a long term deal before the no signing period kicks in. But it's irrelevant he's not franchise tagged. He can be offered a contract extension or a renegotiation at any time. |

So the Broncos obviously are a talented team, but what would they be offering the Bills that would entice a team with no viable QB and a low enough draft pick that it won't be able to secure a starter in the draft...their most glaring need should TT be moved? Without a 3rd team involved, I just don't see it working for the Bills. |

What is the last team that won a Cup while their marquee player, their bona-fide leader, their go-to guy was bought as a free agent? Maybe it's too early but I can't think of one.
All Cup teams add pieces either as quality/value FA signings, and add trade-deadline pieces during Cup run years, but I am having a hard time with this.
Cup teams get there with players they draft (or acquire while they are very young) and develop, mainly.
Toews/Kane/Keith
Crosby/Malkin
Rask/Bergeron
Doughty/Quick
etc. etc. etc.
Maybe, just maybe we have those guys right now but because they are not old enough to buy beer yet, and because we as fans are so itchy to get there we think throwing 11 million at one player is the way to go, but history says it probably won't work.
Of course I like Stamkos. I want him on my team. But I'm skeptical getting him is not going to get us there in one or two years, and by the time we are ready we will be too handcuffed to get those FA players to make our push. Others who make the same point here get mocked by a few who only see 36 goals scored by a guy who , himself, has no Cups yet. Maybe if 91 had won a Cup I'd feel different, but then if that's the case he probably wouldn't be leaving Tampa.
Stinks, bum, 36, what-ever. We are going after him, no matter what says the clown and the guy with the makeup so I guess my opinion means squat, but I still like where this team is going if we do not land him.

Taylor to Denver for their first.
Package Buffalo and Denver first together and a 3/4, move up to 2 and draft a QB. |

Your opinion matters, even if we don't get him there are a couple other forwards we can add for less then it will cost to get Stamkos but he is the number 1 priority as of now. |

I'm not a Taylor fan but IMO, are we in the right position to trade a lot of picks ? I know i've said QB is the most important but ................... |
