love it? really?

I for one wish there was no controversy in these games but that is not the NHL playoffs

I hope the blues move on too but it will take one heck of an effort tonight

Blues got the toughest first round matchup

Getting the champs out is usually the hardest part unless they miss the playoffs

I am looking at you LA

Did you see how his teammates just skated away and didn't even defend him? Definitely should have been a penalty.
- cuethenoise

I don't think his teammates saw it, but some the Blues players did and they seemed as stunned as I did.

If the Hawks lose, I become Blues fan. I like some of the players (Tarasenko, Stastny, Parayko) and I hate the Stars.

How come Shaw didn't even come back at him? Was he scared? I hope we don't take anymore stupid penalties doing crap like that. I'm pretty sure this was after the power play the refs awarded the hawks for Crawford's brawl. I expect something like that out of Ott, but not Brouwer.

I respect the Hawks a ton, if we somehow pull this off I really think it is what gets us over the hump. The confidence boost alone is HUGE!

I cannot root for the hawks

I am married to a hawks fan and I live in Chicago

It is nauseating to watch all of the uneducated get excited about the hawks

My wife freely admits she knows nothing about the game

Runblad is not as bad as Hawk fans make him out to be

He isn't as good as the blues thought he might be when they drafted him in the first round

Who is out?

Gus or Rozy?

Rozy. He has to have zero confidence though. He has played for Ott, Phx, and Chicago and couldn't stick with any of those teams. Phx has TERRIBLE depth on D and he couldn't even stick there. He is only 25 and still has some potential to be a good Offensive D man, but the hawks need shut down guy.

Plus he has been playing in Europe.... I love that we fleeced Ottawa when we got to pick Tarasenko for him.

Blues got very lucky that 14 teams passed on Tarasenko

How he fell to 16 is beyond me

There are far more long time and educated hockey fans in Chicago than you are portraying-- not too biased are you---

Exactly this. I HATE that we picked Erik Johnson. We did pretty good in the 2010 draft though. Schwartz at 14 and Tarasenko at 16

The ones I know and see often are not

I am sure there are a ton of smart hawks fans

I just don't interact with that kind

MY apologies I should have been a bit more clear with my comment

You know this that a lot of fair weather fans show up and act stupid when their hometown teams win

Didn't mean to imply all hawk fans were uneducated

Not my intent

Toews should have been the number 1 pick

but you cant fault the blues for taking the guy that EVERYONE thought was the next Pronger

It sucks that the blues missed on Toews

Cool--and thanks for the clarification-- the McDonough marketing machine has certainly ramped up the hip factor of the Hawks in Chicago-- and there are always more people that want to follow a winner in every city and sport-- the bandwagon effect is not exclusive to Chicago-- most Hawks fans I know are tolerant of this but agree it is at times irritating-- the price of winning I guess--

However the difference is that the hockey ops really have nothing to do with that marketing BS-- this is a legendary core of players with multiple future HOFers-- any real hockey fan would appreciate that regardless of their allegiance--

I am glad I got to watch my wife enjoy two cup championships but now it is my turn

She doesn't want to share just wants to be greedy

I was lucky to witness 2 Cup winning games in person the 2013 game 6 in Boston-- 17 seconds was unreal-- and the 2015 game 6 at home v Tampa-- for first Cup win in Chicago in over 70 years -- historical-- it is exhilarating--
