The Rams were a middle of the pack team last year. Good chance they'll be there again this year.
The Eagles are a mess.
Best guess is the Ram selection is in that 15-18 range and the Eagles selection is top 7. - dadeadhead
I just think the hype and media and such might take its toll on the Rams, but you are right especially if Gurley has that next level. The Eagles have 17.5 mil tied up in QBs already, add in whoever they draft! They could be a mess! |

They can't move him this year.
Cap hit of 12.5
They move him it becomes 22 mil in dead space. |

I'm sorry but the fact that Shaw got a 1 game suspension for trash-talking is ridiculous
Can i understand the fine? sure..its not the nicest word in the world...and he got caught
on camera on national TV
but if the NHL didn't come down with a heavy hand the social justice warriors would be calling for the commissioner to resign (not a bad idea...(frank) Bettman), reparation money, and safe spaces inside the arenas...
Our society is in trouble if this is all it takes to offend someone
EDIT: Hell fine him the Max if the NHL is really adamant about making its point...but a game during the playoff for trash talking that EVERYONE does...come on now |

That Bills rumor was too good to be true. Oh shucks, trading a middling QB and some picks for the chance to get the "best" QB (only taking in what others have said, that the rumor is the #1 pick would be the guy many feel is 2nd best)...sign me up!
If it missed, the price wouldn't have been too much IMO, because it's not like Taylor is taking the Bills to the promise land - stashu
A middling QB who won't take us to the promised land? Did you watch him at all last year, in his FIRST year as a starting QB? If you think any of the top 3 drafted QBs will be as good as TT this year then you simply don't know football. And we won't lose him for nothing. If he progresses, they'll resign him to a long extension or worst case scenario, franchise him |

I think he should have been fined (more so for the F-bombs) but a suspension is ri-damn-diculous. |

We see questionable hits get off suspension free all the time, but a word gets you a game. |

Not a Darcy fan AT ALL, but he had no choice but to sign Vanek, and I'm not so sure how much Golisano, and Quinn had to do with not re-signing Briere, and Drury. - bobmack13
Golisano and Quinn had EVERYTHING to do with not signing Briere and Drury..... I thought that was common knowledge |

You can say this all in hindsight, but had they let Vanek go and the team on the ice the next season come out with such poop, the poop storm would have been even bigger. - stashu
Bigger than anyone knows really..... perhaps this team would not be playing in Buffalo today. |

Sure, it's possible they could have blown the picks, I wouldn't put it past Darcy and his scouts at the time. But I have to disagree on us ever looking like Florida, never will happen in this town. - sskkoo1
They hardly "blew" picks............. they always took the best player at their slot. If you want to blame something, blame the system for not developing these players.
Hockey drafts are pretty boring events actually and few if any teams actually "reach" for a player. |

This country is falling apart day by day, that is completely ridiculous that he's suspended. People are too sensitive, lighten up. |

wow just saw the letang "accidental" decapitation Did he even get a penalty for that?
I hope Eichel can become popular enough that the NHL will decide that he can make them enough money to give the entire team favorable calls game in and game out like the pens have in the past. Its pretty brutal to see some of the things they've gotten away with this year (crosby cross checking risto in the back repeatedly in front of his own net comes to mind while the ref just watches) I doubt it, but we can hope
Also shaw getting suspended and Letang not is just not that what shaw said was acceptable, but really NHL? In this safety era of sports, you deemed that accidental? I guess every baseball player that hits a ball is accidental b/c Letang's swing looked like he was playing baseball) |

I'm sure I'm going to sound dumb asking, but I'll explain my thinking on this...but why are RWers preferred to be right-handed?
I would think if you were left-handed and play on the RW that it gives you better angles to shoot at the net from, and also leaves your stick trailing the play which - while it may be an incorrect thought - would make it easier to accept a pass for a quick shot.
I'm left-handed when it comes to hockey (though right handed for writing and such), so if I envision myself on the ice, it "looks" awkward to me that I'd be placed on the left wing.
I see the advantage when rushing/carrying the puck up ice, but what % of the game is played that way as opposed to in-zone setting up and pass plays?
Also, defensively I'd think a forward would be best to have their stick in the middle of the ice.
Obviously these are long decided "rules" for positions, but having never played hockey outside of street hockey or in gym class, I don't have any education on why this is. - stashu
I am left handed and played RW as well. I never understood why others didn't like to play that way. Their argument was the one timer was easier, my argument was everything else was easier.

This is a "21st Century" suspension. It was in poor taste, shouldn't say it, not to an official especially....but you are right if you play hockey you know that some awful things get said sometimes. Every sport has it. I believe it was Kevin Garnett who told another player his wife tasted like fruit loops. This won't be the last suspension of its kind.

Coaches generally prefer to have players play their strong side. And when coaches prefer that players play that side starting young, so that's what they get used to and that's how they see the game. When Adam Oates went to Washington he liked that so much he made Ovechkin play RW, and to put it mildly, it didn't go well.
I'm right handed and I always preferred to play the left side whether it was at forward or on D because shooting was so much easier, especially going far side. Yeah, one-timers are really hard that way especially when you don't really have practice in beer leagues or roller/deck hockey. The 8 minutes before games doesn't really count. |
