It is the NHL's fault, but after ESPN2 cancelled NHL2night they didn't do poop to promote hockey. I mean they have college basketball layups as top 10 plays, but not Eichel weaving through 3 guys to score.

I agree ESPN has blame here too. But so does America for liking watching a couple of 6'8'' men walk a court for ten seconds and flop when one of them get's their wrist swatted...

If the NHL was smart it would offer ESPN 50 games a year and still have a deal with NBC like every other sport league does. ESPN would likely then create another NHL centric show for ESPN now that they have a stake in how much the league gets viewership and then maybe Americans not in the north east or midwest will realize that this is a far more entertaining sport than basketball or baseball...

That's why I get my actual news from the BBC. Sure I miss out on some "news" here, but am I really missing out?

Be careful with the BBC...they don't really put much bias in their stories...their bias comes out through what stories get headlines

it also rears its ugly head in the way they format their stories..

Example:

Spending 8 paragraphs talking objectively about Donald Trump's campaign strategy in New York only to spend the last 2 1/2 paragraphs talking about all the recent things he's done that look bad on him as well as what the democrats/other republicans had to say about it

The idea is to leave the reader with the determination as to the soundness of the campaign strategy Trump is taking in New York, but mold that determination by placing a negative image in their minds, encouraging them to be overly critical

Again this is only an example...they do this a lot with many different topics
