No, there is no way to shoot a puck 200 feet into a goal on an NHL rink unless you bank it off of something. If you take away the corners, the longest distance you can shoot (if we don't count the stick blade width) is 193.72 feet. - jmatchett383
what is that in inches?
....I was saying by banking it off something |

Honestly havent read a single person suggest that we are losing because of Manning. - jak521
Obviously no one is actually saying that but over each lose the same people show up with their "Flyers suck!" or "Worst organization ever!" or "this team blows" and they seem oblivious to the fact that the Caps are the best team in the league.

IMO We lost Game 1 because of him. That Penalty was awful but other than that he has been fine. If I wanted to blame anyone, it would be Streit. Bad penalties and bad pinches. He has hurt the Flyers all series. Honestly we should put AMac on the 2nd PP unit. The guy had his best season when on Isles 1st PP unit. He cant do any worse than Streit or that damn PP unit in general.... |

So it was Manning's fault that the Flyers couldn't score and his fault that they let up the 2nd goal? I thought that was more on Ghost than Manning.
Basically, take that PP goal away, they still lose Game 1 1-0. |

We lost game 1, 2 and 3 because the team couldnt score more than 1 goal.
That isn't on Manning.

Me too. Ghost was bad in game one. He has improved with each game IMO, with his game last night being his best.
As for the Manning penalty... it was horrible. Horrible in that it is still a (frank)ing penalty. So stupid. He didnt "play it" into the crowd. He reacted, the puck got swatted in mid-air out of play. (frank)ing dumb rule.
EDIT: That play should have been blown dead for offside prior to that anyway. |

Every single NHL defenseman is doing the same thing. It's instinctive to do it (just like when forwards lift their sticks high to knock one down). Sucks it went out, and yeah, it's a stupid rule, but he didn't do anything that Duncan Keith wouldn't do. |

So for games 1,2 and 3 the top players had done nothing but it was a flukey penalty on Manning that cost them?
hahaha

No they don't because that 1 goal changes everything. If Manning doesnt take that penalty, the game is tied at 0. Voracek doesnt make that risky play because there is no pressure to tie the game with less than half a period to play. The Flyers could steal that game. |

How many times do you see Giroux swing at pucks in the air knowing full well if he hits it that it will be a high sticking call if the Flyers touch it.

Ek?
Seriously, no one could honestly say they thought we would win the series.
Hell, I thought going 6 games would be unlikely. Almost there! |

Flyers down 1-0. MacDonald gets boarded. PP coming. Simmonds goes to Wilson, gets a phantom roughing call. No PP or chance to tie on man advantage.
Game tied 1-1. Ovechkin shoots wrister from circle unscreened. Flyers down 2-1 now. Guess Mason lost the game

I did.
They played them well in the season.
The Flyers played well down the stretch. I thought the PP would keep them in games. Little did I know it would completely disappear.
I had this going 7 |

Mason was a big reason we got to the dance, and I blame our epically bad PP for having us down 0-3 more than Mase.
That being said, it seems like all year, the team played better with neuvy in goal. No idea why. - Hextall271
And PK. They were much more active and aggressive on the PK last night and it was (obviously) more effective. |

I just expected the games to be more competitive. They were in a complete downward spiral heading into game 4. I honestly thought it would go 6. |

The games have been very competitive at even strength. Our collapse on the PK in games 2 and 3 paired with a paltry effort on the PP has given it the feel of a total blood bath. |
