Great news. That was scary. Here is hoping he makes a full recovery and is ready to play next season. - PLindbergh31
That was scarier than the Richards hit on Booth, which was the scariest one I've ever seen in person. |

He hasn't brought offense from the blue line and carried the puck up the ice much this season. In past seasons, yes, but he's been pretty ineffective offensively this year, and his transition game has been shot to poop.
Also, contract cost should never be considered. They were willing to send AMac to Lehigh Valley, and since there's no cap in the playoffs, they could healthy scratch him.
And yes, leadership and "veteran" should count. But when your bread and butter is being an offensive defeseman and you're not providing offense, you're not effective. - jmatchett383
I can't argue with any of this. However there is a certain level of respect this organization has for Streit. Scratching him could backfire. Torts sat Brad Richards in a game 7 a couple seasons back and I believe the team missed him and it cost Torts his job in New York. |

Maybe I am slow but I thought Manning and Gudas were out a lot against Ovechkin line. - J35Bacher
No you're not wrong but really, how long should that match up play out?
You know, I'll give Gudas and Manning credit for last night but they struggled at times, along with the whole team before last night but you cannot expect Gudas and Manning to keep going up against Ov.

Question to all. If you could drop Brandon Manning or Chris Vandevelde today, which would to be? I mean, I swear Vandevelde is only here because the Coach is familiar with him but outside of that, he's awful. Now, I don't know if Manning and Hakstol once shared a moment side by side in a bathroom stall but I've seen more average to bad than anything justifying why Medvedev has sat through 4 games, including a possible elimination night. |

Scariest I saw was Svoboda by Bureau. I think we all thought Peter was dead. Blood pooling behind his head. Never moved. |

I liked what McDonald provided last night, both in terms of added size to the lineup and his play in general. But with Laughton out and Bellemare coming back, I really don't want to see all 4 of Bellemare, McDonald, White, and Vandevelde in the lineup. Just too many redundant 4th liners for a team that's struggling to score for me. I know Hakstol will never do this but I'd much rather see a Weal or a player with a little more of an offensive game plugged in for one of them (preferably Vandevelde). Again, I know it won't happen, but I'd like to see it. |

Brindy put his hand on Peter's skate (I don't know why) and all I could think of was (figure skaters) Paul Wylie holding Sergei Grinkov's skate to pray for him as he died about 3 mos earlier. It really freaked me out and I just sat there and cried. |

You said Manning's penalty cost them the game, meaning they would have won had he not taken that penalty.
Yes, the game is different, but they could still lose regardless of that penalty.
Or, you know, maybe the PK doesn't allow them to score. So really, the PK cost them the game.
And Mason let in the goal. So Mason cost them the game.
And Manning's parents gave birth to him. If they hadn't, he wouldn't have taken that penalty. So his parents cost them the game.
No one player has ever cost anyone a game by himself, not even Michael Leighton. There were 5 players on the ice when that goal was scored, but apparently the reason for the goal rests 100% solely on the player who was not on the ice. There was 0% chance that the PK kills it or Mason makes that save...it's all Manning's fault. That is what you are saying, is it not? - jmatchett383
No I said the penalty costed them the game which means they lost the game because of him, which they did. It is still possible they would have lost anyways but since the goal scored was the game winner, that is why the Flyers lost. If they still lost, someone else would be at fault |

Finished with the same number of regular season losses and they were 5 pts ahead. We are rebuilding and they are "going for it" |

In Reply to Super Schenn again, Re-Question to all, not sure if you paid attention but why would Hak who I believe has a higher hockey IQ than you , judging by his salary and position, Play Manning the last 15 games of regular season then sit him now as we struggle to score goals . We struggled to score goals all year, If powerplay wasn't producing we had a tough time scoring. When you say why has Medvedev sat through 4 games, its the same as the last 15 games of the regular season Coach has more confidence in Manning, and after a win unless you had a bad game he isn't gonna change that up. Your gonna have to find another scapegoat even if it is as you say a possible elimination night, all the more reason to keep things status quo. |

Depends on who we drop them for. It's actually a tough question. I'd like to see our 4th line add more size and grit. Ryan white has the heart but if you had a guy similar to him with size, they be a tough pair to play against. Manning I think has been ok for what he's expected to do. I'd love to see him dropped and provorov on the roster next year though |
