Can you imagine if we got him and Stamkos. There would be a rash of suicides in Toronto . Then the stories on how stupid we are , and they just wanted to drive the price up on us.

The fact that Buffalo fans have allowed the bar to be set so incredibly low as to describe Evander not stealing a hat trick from a fellow teammate as being some sort of character-revealing epiphany is a little depressing, frankly. You need to hold a guy like that to a lot, lot higher standards.

This is true for a lot of things.

The local media tried to say Kane and his massive 35 point season was "very good" and just kept taking about how his 82 game pace.

I like Kane, but people try way too hard to defend him. There were articles written asking whether he would score 35-40 goals this year. All of the sudden a 35 point year with a sexual assault investigation and a team suspension is some sort of a success? Aim higher next year....much higher

When I picked this part of the bracket, I made my selection because I figured one team goal tending would badly outclass the other.

Turns out my thinking was right, but my selection wasn't.

Watching the window close on Lundqvist and the Rangers as one of the elite teams in the East is pretty awesome.

The way the Sabres outclassed them that last game they played, they were done before they started. They don't belong. Worst team in the playoffs.

Investigation ? No charges . Did nothing wrong . His biggest fault was being part of the package that came back for Myers . Some folks will never forgive him for that . Came off shoulder surgery and like the rest of the team took a while to get going . Next season will be a much bigger factor in how I pass judgement on him . But As much as I hated the Myers trade I have let the hostility go and moved on.

Love to see anyone beat Milbury . Maybe NBC should hire Scott instead of TSN . Love to see them analyzing in the same room.

And Kane's fun to watch. He's a wild man out there. Something badly needed on this team.

Has nothing to do with the trade at this point. He had games (especially before he got hurt for the last few games) where he was excellent, and some where he wasnt. That's just who he is, which is fine. But look at the season as a whole. Even if you exclude the investigation.

35 points
2 injuries
1 team suspension

Seriously, what is considered a bad year for a 5 million dollar winger if this is a good one?

Are our standards really anything that isn't Moulson or Leino must be good?

On this young team that was not a bad year considering the turnover on the team , coming of Major shoulder surgery . Not just new coach , new team mates , new system. The whole team had to get to know each other with all the turnover . He plays an aggresive style. Injuries are going to come with that . I will take it and look forward to next season.

I'll take it. He didn't have a horrible year, I just wouldn't write home about it.

From last blog just because!!!:

Did some back reading...

Gerbe thinks Kiko is a future HOFer...on his 3rd team in 4 years, traded for picks...how did nobody jump on him for this one?

Subban for Mathews is interesting but that would mean no Stamkos. Still holes to fill in the top 6. It's a toss up.

Good on the Sharks to take care of business.

Neuvirth stood on his head last night. Philly has no business being in game 6 but that's what goalies do, they steal games.

I was not talking about kiko being in the HoF

I don't hear anyone jumping up and down exclaiming what a great season Kane had, so I don't know where your outrage is coming from.
He had one bad decision and paid for it...his teammates apparently back him in general..if their good with him, I am too from that perspective.
I didn't like his game in the 1st half of the season, but his game improved when placed on Eichel's wing...he actually showed he can use his linemates to his advantage...and he played a solid game. While I'd love to see him get 30, I don't think he gets it...more like 25, and he plays both ends with a physical presence.
That's good for me.
As for the investigation, the only thing is is guilty of is having a large package.
Don't hold it against him, let it go.

He's $250k a year less than the injury prone Winnipeg Giraffe, who suffered a season ending injury, and scored only 27 points.

And if half of the shots that hit the post went in, Kane would be close to 30.
