Hopefully Subban, like Drouin, will leave his feelings in the AHL
I really hope I'm wrong about Subban, right now I see Weber (not the good one, the one we already had and hopefully no longer will have). - neem55
Agree on Subban. I don't think he does jack in the NHL that's why I always found people crying about his feelings hilarious |

He was a rookie playing 20 minutes a game! Hard to please eh k - CanuckDon
Ya, I look at Parayko, The two guys on Carolina, Ghost, van rymsdyk... the list goes on. Young guys playing lots of minutes, playing good d or at least considerably better than Hutton. I think he has top-4 potential, but defensively he's got a loooong way to go and I'm skeptical. When he got bumped up in ice when Edler got injured it really stuck out to me that he is a liability in our end. |

He was used to the college schedule the long season def. took its toll on him. I'd be surprised if he isn't top 4 personally |

Yup. Continuing to pick them int the 4th-7th round and expecting it to pan out... what do they call it when you keep doing the same stupid thing and expect different results?

that is true, I've give you that. 82 games is a big schedule/adjustment. I hope you're right, I see big defensive gaps but he's good with the puck on his stick that's for sure. |

It's his shot generation and possession in college which was truly incredible. He shown some of that ability in his first season. I'm impressed |

JB will pick d early I hope, but he hasn't yet in two years either. Brisbois and tree were a good start as 3rd rounders, time to pick d in the top 2 rounds for a few years here. Not exclusively mind you, I just think its well past time to start picking one regularly in one of those rounds. |

right. But I don't put Karllson in my top-5 for this same reason. The position is called defenseman not rear wing |

First draft he took Demko. Great pick. Then used his 3rd on Tree. Last year he didn't have a second and used a high 3rd on Brisbouis. It's a priority, he knows Gillis left a hole on D |

From my calculation we got 111 games from 16 d-men we drafted over 8 years
75 from Hutton
28 from Corrado
8 from Sauve

Anybody watching the Nashville game? Weber, Ellis, Josi, Ekholm are unreal. All have something in common too
edit: Ekholm was picked later than 1st or 2nd round actually. two first rounders, a second and a 4th. - neem55
I'm watching it. They are losing and gave up the lead in the series.

That's true, I'd imagine Demko was BPA for JB and he couldn't pass it up(was a great call). You're right he knows it's a priority, but again I'm ready to see it now. |

the series is 2-2, Anahiem is very good (before the season the odds on favorite to win the cup). the game is 2-1 and very close, let's not paint a false picture here. |

I think he was filling a hole, Canucks have very weak goalie depth. |

Ya maybe, I see Markstrom as being pretty dam good. Backups aren't too hard to come by. Again, I don't disagree with the Demko pick he's looking unreal and I hope he dominates the AHL. |

Awful. Similar to Patrick White, Shink, Gaunce, CoHo... need I go on? I mean we've seen so many busts at forward, I'm a little shocked you guys don't want to see more d picks. I think either way JB is the guy to do it, but how many times do we have to see it? - neem55
The really bad first rounders picked by Gillis and Nonis have nothing to do with the first rounders JB is picking.
I understand you are sick of seeing forwards picked in the first but it is not a sound scouting policy. |
