I would be fine bringing him back 1 more year on the cheap to play with the kids on the 3rd line - homiedclown
He has no business on a 3rd line on a playoff team. He wouldn't be on any one of these playoff teams 3rd line I don't think. At this point in his career he's a solid 4th liner who can contribute offensively. That is for a playoff team. If we want to continue to sit here with no rooting interest come late April then we can keep Girgensons on the 2nd line, Gionta on the 3rd, taking shoot out attempts, starting the 3/3 overtime and getting quality offensive minutes. |

Young teams on the rise need veterans like Gionta. Pittsburgh had Bill Guerin, Chicago had John Madden, etc... - chilliard77
Sure they do, with limited ice time and not on offensive rushes when they are too slow and have no shot |

People say we should trade Kane because there will be no room for him wrong, get rid of Girgensons because there is NO USE for him. - SABRES 89

Girgensons has no business playing in the top 6, he is not a top 6 player nor will he be. |

We shouldn't have to worry about Girgensons in the top 6, he the perfect 3rd line center or he's traded for a D man. Having options is a good thing. |

We'll take him off their hands... Girgensons and a 3rd for Nickushkin
Edit* Didn't realize his numbers were so bad this year.. Maybe we can just get him for a 3rd.. |

Im just happy to be here.
Gionta fillsthe veteran leadership roll well, but this hS to be his last year...pass on another hear or two after this one coming up.
im hopefull his line is pushed down to 4th due to some significant signi gs in the offseason..talking to you Stamkos and Vezey! - IonSabres
I couldn't agree with you more.
If Foligno Larsson Gionta is our 4th line that is not a bad thing.
If you can roll 4 lines with heavy skill in the top 9 GM TM is doing well. |

Once Gionta was slotted properly over the last 2 months of the season, he was much more effective and I didn't want to throw things at the TV when he was on the ice. He was able to bring the best out of Foligno and Larsson and showed he still has the speed to keep pace in the league. I echo what other posters have said, a 4th line of Gionta, Foligno and Larsson means we're going places. If any of those guys are in the top 9 for a long period of time, we're in trouble. |

I don't think that our NHL Bracket Challenge is scoring properly.
The guy in first should have 9 more points for correctly choosing the number of games in the San Jose, Tampa Bay, and Washington series correctly. |
