Some fans here have said they hope he doesn't overpay. JB doesn't have a history of overpaying UFAs .
Contract extensions that's a different story - VANTEL
Like you said two days ago, he doesn't have a track record or history, he hasn't been a GM long enough. |

Not at his age. |

Truthfully I think Benning comes off as a knucklehead but he's probably the best GM the Canucks have had in a long while. I say that because I believe you build teams primarily thru the draft, this appears to be his bread and butter.
He's gonna have his misses, they all do, but I'm excited for this draft to see what transpires. - LeftCoaster
He knows how to evaluate talent and the scouting department, that part seems to be sorted. |

Benning has done a pretty good job , van fans are impatient . Takes years to develop a good team . - Cletuswest

To me that's the most important part, if history shows us anything. |

We are entering year 3 of the rebuild. There has not been a lot of screaming. |

Lives in Summerland. One never knows, it would have to be an unlikely discount deal. |

To be truthful there are certain posters I don't read , so maybe I miss most of the arguing. |

He would be a good Burrows replacement short term. He should have stayed in WPG |

Last year Dean Lombardi gave a 33 year old Marian Gaborik a six year deal worth 4.875 million, as I said, someone always pays. |

If anything has shown us yesterday, is that Chicago is a winner (with that leadership group it's not surprising, though). Anyone know the reason why we (or anyone else for that matter?) were not in on the Panarin sweepsteaks? |

He wanted to play for a winner...that's not the Canucks. |
