I think they need size and toughness right now more though. If the toughest player on your team is your best goal scorer then that is a problem. - opeth_pa
Agreed, adding two guys like Jon Scott and Steven Delisle should put them over the top because they have size and are tough.
This is what I was talking about. Adding size/toughness for the sake of adding size/toughness does not help you win. |

Is Read back next season? I know he has a contract but I think they have to what they can to move him. Also I feel the Flyers have role players in Lehigh that can fill his role.
Leier
Bardreau
Martel
McDonald
And if they can sign Caggulia. - J35Bacher
I'm thinking they'll try to move Read and Streit. They both looked like shells of their former selves last season. You'll be selling low, but I'm okay with that. |

I'd be okay with the Caps winning. Ovechkin is a player I really like, and they're a team that I find hard to hate. Aside from Tom Wilson, I don't think there's a single player on the team that I don't like. |

youd trade EVERYONE on that team to get a hold of either one of them....
Eichel for Giroux, Voracek and your next two firsts....youd JUMP at....
And youd take Reinhart for Giroux in a SECOND...
but hey....if your #1 center and captain getting ONE point in a six game series is ok with you guys...so be it...
I GUARANTEE you Oreilly would TRIPLE that..ahahhahaaha - Ripped Fuel
OUR number one CENTER was HURT the entire SERIES. That PLAYER averages a point per GAME in the playoffs in his CAREER.
All of those TRADES are HORSEpoop, by THE way. |

Hope they all pass. G did that poop last year and Hockey Canada rewarded him by not naming him to their preliminary World Cup roster. (frank) them. - TobyFlenderson
THIS x 1000.
My thoughts exactly. I am Canadian and I hate what hockey Canada has done to G since the 2014 Olympics. Although he said he isn't, I think he's hurt. Schenn can go, but if G goes with the hopes of it showing he should be on the WC roster, I believe he'll be disappointed.
I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect he will be omitted from the team. Kunitz has a better shot at making it. |

They really are no great UFA guys with size and toughness and skill, i.e. Pat Maroon type.
I mean there's Matt Martin but I wouldn't put him in the skill of Maroon
Backes- praobably getting a good amount of money and also 31
Youngest guy that has and edge and skill would probably be McGinn.
Just not a dearth of big edgy skilled guys.
Would rather fill my bottom 6 with guys in the system and see if I can get Stamkos at 9-10 million

I didnt say add goons.
I said add size and toughness.
Not quite the same as adding Jon Scott.
Hell that size and toughness could come in the form of Morin on the backend . |

Also we can add I think about 2.5 to our cap space with Vinny retiring.
Del Zotto can slot into Streit's role
Del Zotto - Schultz
Gostisbehere - MacDonald
Provorov - Gudas

Forwards peak at 16, so good luck with those guys on the decline - PhillySportsGuy
True.....
Ill leave you folks alone for the off season...the only thing I wanted to really get into here was the fact that NOONE is holding Giroux's feet to the fire for ONE point amazes me.....I thought you were better fans than that...
If my captain and #1 center did that..hed have a bulleye on his face...
He TRULY learned NOTHING from Briere about fighting through it.
Good Luck on your trade pursuit of Mc David - Ripped Fuel

Well, when he says, "size and toughness," what comes to mind? Big players who fight is what comes to my mind. Sorry for interpreting something a way.
Also, Comon, what would this place be without a certain poster crying about needing to add size every (frank)ing day? |

Great season for you guys, considering it was thought to be a "transition" year for you. You guys have a ton of good young talent, and won't be far away from competing in the Metro. Huge fan of Gostisbehere, kid can flat out play.
As much as i dislike the Flyers, when both them and the Pens are at top form, it is one of the best rivalries in hockey, and must watch TV. Good luck to you guys in the offseason. |
