Great for the boys and after the last few seasons this one felt so refreshing.
The playoffs are in no means a lock for next year, but that's not the here and now. These boys played with a lot of heart and I will remember them for that.
In a way, I'll be sad to see a few of them go. |

I wonder what magic Hexy will work next
Let's hope he does more in the offseason than he did at the trade deadline. Not to bust on him too much cause he's done an amazing job overall, but doing nothing at the deadline came across to me as a bit of a cop out.
If you don't believe in the team, as it is, trade for the future. If you do believe, trade for the playoffs. When you have all those extra picks and an abundance of prospects, you're supposed to do something. Any of us could sit there and do nothing.
Ok off the soap box. Anyone watching the beatdown USA is giving Canada in the under 18 Bronze Medal game? 9-2 DOH! |

The Schenn negotiation will be interesting. Go with the bridge deal to UFA or buy a few years of free agency? I don't think Hexy will take a shot at a high dollar UFA like Stamkos or Lucic. However, maybe a player like Troy Brouwer if he could be signed for a couple of years to play on the third line and be bumped up into the top 6 if needed. - ravishingone
What about Okposo. I think he's a UFA, and plays the wing. |

Oh, it feels like elimination. I won't be "looking ahead" and "happy" until tomorrow.
(frank) that. Elimination game on home ice and they lose 1-0. Come on - Giroux_Is_God
It was an ugly game, only a couple steps up from last game until late in the 3rd. But I just can't bring myself to be upset or disappointed. I'm very at peace with this season. |

RW. That is maybe the least needed position. Probably asking for $7 million for 6-7 years too. He's good, but he ain't that good. |

I dont think there was much of a market for what Hexy was going to be selling. Ganger was okay but didn't really look great until the 2nd half, no one was taking MacDonald or Umby off of our hands without us retaining salary or throwing in picks, Streit's value took a big hit due to the injury and his age, and obviously there was no intention of breaking up the core guys like G and Simmer. Hopefully Jake has a great year next year

Love the player. He's just such a good hockey player.
Hate the contract demands, age, and injury history. $6 mil x 6 years for a 31 y.o. with a lengthy list of injuries.
I personally have two FAs that pique my interest on (slightly) more manageable deals: Demers as a RD. Nielsen as a C. |

I think Loui can fit on this team well. I would give him the money if we could keep the term to two years but i'm sure he will be looking for 3+. |

I loathe losing. But I didn't lose -- the players did. As an observer, I can take that step back.
I will give you your like 18 hours. If you are not right by then, watch some Rick and Morty or w/e it is you do.

Yeah 6x6 is not even close for me. I would consider 4 years 5m per but obviously that won't happen. Nielsen would help us tremendously not only for depth purposes but in shootouts as well. I don't know much about Demers but he seems like a solid OFD/TWD who would give us some flexibility with the young guys |

I accept.
For now, I gotta write a paper on vismodegib and its effect on basal cell carcinoma. I think I might rather watch the Flyers get elimated |

Our captain stinks
Our high paid winger was a mistake of a contract
No centers in the system when the dmen develop
Won't matter, they won't develop anyway
We're doomed.I like putting, unnecessary punctuation; in my posts. |

I'd like to see things out with Cousins for next year. He looked good.
Would also like to bring Gagner back on a 1 year deal as I thought he played well and adds to the (lack of) playmaking in the top 9.
A deal for a right handed dman like Demers is definitely something I'd be interested in. Other than that, just keep the train of development moving. They exceeded expectations, but I would like them to approach the offseason the same way they would if the team missed the playoffs by 10 points. |

Bill Meltzer: Wrapup: Caps 1-0 Win in Game 6 Ends Flyers' Season - bmeltzer
Thanks a lot bill. Very happy with the flyers effort this season to get into the playoffs and take prob the best team in the league to six games. Neuvy played great this series, but we obviously don't have enough depth to compete seriously for the cup. Season is a real success as we found out we have a ghost. Really hope to see provy and konecny make the team next year.
Well done this year boys! I suspect you made Ed proud. I know you made me feel we're on the right path. |
