Find a way to buy out Lindblom's last year in Sweden. Even if he can't crack the Flyers line-up in preseason, I think he would develop a lot better in a top 6 role in the AHL as opposed to a bottom 6 role in Sweden.
Depending on price and term I have some interest in Perron. - ravishingone
They don't have to buy it out. He has an NHL out-clause as with most every SHL contract but is not using it. He will sign an ELC next year and be over for 2017-18. |

Wait, is that what he has decided?! He's staying in Sweden 1 more year and that's final? |

This will work just fine, too many people in a damn hurry to rush every prospect into the lineup.
It's called a work in progress for a reason people. |

Can't be disappointed with this season. Expected more from G and crew in the playoffs, but it is what it is. Very much looking forward to next season.
Cheering on the Caps the rest of the playoffs. My ideal Stanley Cup Final would be Washington and St Louis. Runner-Up would be Washington and San Jose. |

Prospect pool has a dearth of centers. You know these troofs to be self-evident. That's why I am all for trading up for top prospect Stephen Stamkos. - Mononoke
The Flyers have a pretty good history of finding top 6 centers all over the first round.
Did you read Corey Pronman's article about scouting vs. stats? Among forwards in the CHL, he correlated actual draft order with NHL points and CHL points with NHL points to determine whether simply ranking forwards by raw points in the CHL was a better predictor than actual scouting. He found they were nearly identical and that teams routinely over-ranked both defenseman and forwards with more height.
Here's his little anecdote
I found that NHL scouts in the 1990-2010 time span improperly rated height for both forwards and defensemen. Height was a poor predictor of NHL success and was a far inferior indicator than just simple scoring. This height problem goes to the aforementioned issues Meehl discussed with experts not being able to examine all the information precisely. From my experiences, every time a small guy lights up the CHL, Rob Schremp -- or someone of his ilk -- is bound to be brought up by someone in the discussion. This line of thinking isolates an example, rather than looking to see if there is a general rule on height that an algorithm would detect.

Rats. Last I heard he was deciding.
It's not like it will hurt his development, but I thought he could've made a real push for the roster at some point next season. At the very least, it would've been awesome to add him to next year's exciting AHL roster. I thought he looked NA ready. Oh well. |

Oh man- I forgot! I'm with Nutter. I'd like to see more of him. I'd say 3rd line wing. Maybe at that point you could think about letting Gagner walk. |

With MDZ back in the fold next year who comes out for Provorov? (assuming he's sticking around)
I'd go
Ghost AMac
MDZ Streit
Gudas Provorov
Schultz
Manning to AHL
Medvedev trade
I'd love to move Streit at the draft but I feel like that's more likely a deadline deal. |

Manning would have to clear waivers. Medvedev is a UFA. I'd rather see Schultz in over Streit if the 2016-2017 version of Streit will be more like this season.

its funny, he is the forward prospect I'm most excited to see here not in the respect that I think he will be the most talented (Konecny) but just curiosity to see his game here. |

Especially having one of our 40 players who love to pass the puck he'll have plenty of chances to shoot. |

Doesn't surprise me about height being overvalued and/or misperceived with regard to talent. I can't read it, as I am an outsider, but I remember him posting the article. But considering I am in Clayton Keller's fan club and he doesn't play in the CHL and he is sub-6', I think I'm safe.
This draft is very weak in terms of talent in later rounds. Most experts seem to agree it doesn't even last through the second. And where the Flyers pick they're very much in the big winger/d man territory this year. Normally, I'd say just take them....but Flyers have depth at just about every position but center. And moving up may truly be need and BPA.
Someone like German Rubtsov is a wildcard. He might very well be available at 18 and BPA, but he's the only one I've never seen. Some scouts peg him as having huge potential. Hexy has shown an interest in Russian players though, and I don't mean Provy and Fazleev. Vorobyov supposedly they graded out as a 2nd round talent, and even Fedotov was a weird pick. Along with Meddy, it tells me they are very interested in Russia. Their scouts probably have covered Rubtsov well. But I DON'T believe in trading up for players for the heck of it. Have to believe in the player; they have to force your hand i.e. Travis Konecny. There is one in particular that forces my hand. |

I'd be ok with moving up. That's one of the benefits to having all of those extra picks. Wouldn't be upset of they move some picks for picks in next year's draft. |

It's really case by case, year by year with moving up. If the rumors were true, the Flyers were looking to move up for Provorov at 3 or 4. And of course they did move up for Konecny. I can't say either would have been/or is a bad move in a vacuum (we know Provorov move would've been NOW, given that he fell, but what if Hexy knew Carolina would take him at #5?). Don't trade up for a center or a d man or w/e. Trade up for a name. Like Carson Goff. That's a heck of a name. |
