really...those lottery picks really seem to be helping them and the oilers.
- landros 2
youd trade EVERYONE on that team to get a hold of either one of them....
Eichel for Giroux, Voracek and your next two firsts....youd JUMP at....
And youd take Reinhart for Giroux in a SECOND...
but hey....if your #1 center and captain getting ONE point in a six game series is ok with you guys...so be it...
I GUARANTEE you Oreilly would TRIPLE that..ahahhahaaha

I loved how concerned #8 was for Laughton but tried to kill Flyers with hits...#8 also was trying to get the Flyer fans to stop throwing bracelets as if the fans would care what he thinks - vejim
Ovi reminds me of a Russian Eric Lindros.
Except Ovi is not as good of a passer and keeps his head up. |

My early targets would be Jamie McGinn and Jason Demers
Jake-g-Simmonds
Raffl-coots-schenn
McGinn-cousins-konecny
Laughton-bellemare-leier
Mdz-Demers
Ghost-gudas
Provorov-manning
Amac
For me I go big.
-I would target Stamkos.
-I don't want to spend on guys like Lucic, Eriksson or Boedker.
-The only D guy I like is Demers. But I could see him getting a big deal from someone and priced out what the Flyers would be willing to pay.
-I would let Colin McDonald battle with Vandevelde for the 4th line role. Not a big change but I think McDonald shows a little more than Vandevelde(and I am bias and hate him)

No.
People aren't happy we lost.
People are happy that there is a plan and we can see some of the potential. Really cliché but Rome wasn't built in a day.
They made progress. They have players ready to come up and allow other players to move on.
They moved money out in Lecavalier and Schenn and got picks back.
It's a start and an actually process people can see working. |

I wouldn't keep nor expect Jake to stay on left wing. We need to get an actual left winger. This throwing players around and seeing what sticks I believe hurts the chemistry of the team. Raffl at center, no thanks. Laughton and voracek at left wing, when neither are naturals there and both aren't exactly lighting the word on fire. - SuperSchennBros
Well what are we going to do? Konecny comes up it'll likely be at RW. Maybe it'll be at center. But the remedy is to trade one of Jake, schenn, Simmonds I guess. Schenn looks ultra comfy on the right side |

I don't think they got curb stomped. Their top players didn't play well, and the PK and PP were just awful. We all know the roster has holes. I think they are ahead of schedule. Taking the President's Trophy winners to a game 6 is a pretty good showing. |

Hextall is cut from a different cloth. Prior regimes would have went out at this trade deadline and unloaded assets on aging rentals. Hextall stayed the course. I think the Flyers are in good hands now. |

Guys..SERIOUSLY...you need top REALLY address the top end talent of this team...
Eichel is ALREADY better than ANYONE on your team....
Reinhart is better than any prospect you have
And Risto is better than any defenseman you have...
Id be careful throwing rocks for a team that just got SMOKED.
but hey...Gothesbiere is the next Paul Coffey...its not like hes a flash in the pan like Mike Green or anything. Build around him..an Offensive defenseman. It works well, just ask Ottawa and Phoenix |

Complain when they sign veterans for short term fix, complain when they have a plan for the future and overachieve by making the playoffs.

Cousins did admirably. I'm just not sure I see the high ceiling to him as 3C. I think he could be a very good 4C, and if Hak is going to slobber over the 4th line, might as well be a very good one instead of the meat and potatoes and shots against group we have now. I do think that between Laughton and Leier or someone could work for the time being.
I don't want to cash in assets, as in players, for a young center. I DO want to see them move up in the draft. With 2 2nds and 2 3rds to work with, it's possible to move up a handful of spots w/out trading a prospect. I'm usually a quantity guy, but their present prospect situation strikes me as a time to splurge on quality. Splurge on quality hehe. - Mononoke
I think Hextall has shown he is willing to do so if the player merits a trade up. I agree with you...getting a high ceiling forward will be key. It may even need to come through a trade, although that happens less now (Forsberg). Either way, I have a lot of confidence that Hextall knows what this team needs. Sure we dealt with the same issues all season long, but now there is another offseason to make those changes. It should be a fun summer! |

intelligent fans understand the rebuild really started last year when Hextall got his hands on everything. So we are headed in that direction. A new GM needs some time to turn a team around. Hard concept to grasp, I know. |

First off, I didn't expect this team to make the playoffs. Playing relevant games in late March, yes, but a bubble team at best. Once they made it, all I wanted was one win, and they won two, so my expectations were exceeded.
One great thing was the difference in Ghost's play from games 1-3 to games 4-6. At first, he seemed a but timid, afraid to make a mistake, and, apart from his game 1 gaffe, he was ineffective. In the last 3 games, he seemed a lot calmer, and was playing like himself, which is to say he was playing with the edge that makes him effective: not afraid to take chances and taking more control of the break-outs.
However, our stars were shut down which is obviously disturbing. Giroux and Voracek both looked injured, as they weren't especially sharp, and Giroux seemed to be laboring up and down the ice. Voracek's skating was okay, but his puck control was nowhere to be found. Simmonds and Schenn played very well (especially Schenn), but Washington keyed on that top line and the Flyers had no answers for it. Overall though, with the defense we have and the lack of secondary scoring, going to 6 games with the top seed and being a 1 goal swing away from Game 7 is nothing to be ashamed of.
For the people wanting more size: Washington was the top seed, but right now, Pittsburgh has been the best team in the East. And they're doing it without a ton of size. Aside from Malkin, they don't have much size in their top-6 or even top-9. They have skill, getting contributions from guys like Rust, Sheary, and Hagelin. Aside from goading Simmonds into a fight, what impact did first rounder Tom Wilson have in the series other than to get stoned with 2 great scoring chances and take a stupid penalty in game 2? If all things are equal, size is nice, but I'll take skill over size all day. |

"rebuild" with ZERO lottery picks...good luck with that....Ovie, top pick...Sid and Geno, top picks....Eichel and Reinhart coming......Toronto coming...
Good luck..thats all I can say... |
