Funny because the leafs in the past 2 years have signed former canucks to 1 year contracts and they got picks for both of them in Santorelli and Mathias
They also managed to sign Daniel winnik to 1 year deal, then trade him for a 2nd and a 4th, RESIGN him again and trade him for another 2nd and a good prospect.

That's why Patrick Maroon's story is so sad. Traded to the Oilers in exchange for a 4th round pick and prospect Martin Gernat.
Didn't understand why the ducks made that move. Maroon seems like a good depth player for a cup run. |
