How about dangling our captain in front of Edmonton for McDavid? They need D and we need Offense, Looks like a win win scenario - nyrsucks
Oilers could have a blank check from about 20 different teams for McDavid.

They'd need to throw in a sweetner for sure. Nurse or a doctor or a 1st, etc |

I'd rather just deal away Nash for nothing then give up a dman like Klein. We have very few capable dmen as it is, with that kind of contract. Klein and Staal are a decent second pair. I think our best defensively is Mac and Skjei, Staal and Klein and figure out the last two. Wether it's Mcilrath, Girardi, UFA, etc. Those two together would be scary slow tho I agree on Yandle, I don't think he's worth the money - Slimtj100
Have to part ways with Nash this summer, come hell or high water, to paraphrase bah gawd Jim Ross.
The Rangers are in a bad spot financially and don't have a lot of viable options to free themselves of cap space and try to acquire lost assets.
Nash is the likeliest big ticket to get sent out of town and rightly so. Seen that expensive movie way too much for my liking. |

Draft day deal? 2nd rounder and a prospect or two? Buffalo? Our pals in Edmonton? |

It would make it a whole lot easier to know the teams he would OK being traded to haha
Edit: I mentioned to saber fan yesterday, to which he was thrilled lol, Nash for Foligno. I don't think it says much about Foligno tho, but alas, we get a decent winger/forechecker/pker?. So long as they take all that 7.8 mill or whatever it is |

Maybe we can send Nash to Columbus for that Dubinsky guy. I hear he is ok |

They have to get something substantial back for him, Not expecting the first overall pick, or a return of a team's best prospect, young roster player and a first, but they need to get some sort of a viable package.
He's one year removed from scoring 42 goals and is only 32 years old. His deal has only two years remaining on it; something a team with cap space can absorb. If the Ragers were to eat some of that salary, that can be lived with, but bottom line is that he can't be here next season. |

Pretty sure he has a list of teams he would accept a trade to; as part of his contract clause.
I highly doubt the Oilers are one of the teams on this list. I can definitely see him move to a team like Toronto if they lose out on Stamkos. |

That is a key, only 2 years left on the deal. I really don't think the contract left is that bad. I guess we will find out this summer when he is dealt. |

I think he has a NTC, the NMC expired. So hypothetically let's just assume the teams he wouldn't accept a trade to are....
Edmonton
Winnipeg
Calgary
Vancouver
Phoenix
Columbus(obviously)
Carolina
Now talk about teams that are cap strapped and realistically couldn't afford his contract.....
Tampa(Want to re-sign Stamkos)
Ottawa(Melnyk is a cheap SOB)
LA
Chicago
Toronto
And obviously the Rangers could never work a deal with PIT, NYI, NJ, PHI, WSH
so the options of moving him are limited. |

Winnipeg? Nash for Adam Lowrey plus a 2nd and 3rd rounder. |

I think it's a matter of when, not if, on a Nash deal.
Think he gets dealt at the draft or early in the free agency period. |

Honest question, would you want to play on bad Winnipeg team in the middle of Winter in -40 degree temps? |

They are but the few teams, he would likely get moved to, need to be sold hard by Gorton. If Nash starts next season here, Gorton dropped the ball.
