Only Canadian teams I can see him accepting a deal with are the Leafs and the Habs. |

Winnipeg is terrible though. I'm sure they'll make a bid for Stamkos and I'm 99% sure he won't go there. |

Yep just like Gomez. I can see like 2 days before the draft - TPC
Same, the team has clearly put the mandate on making some strong changes. Since the team is up against, cap-wise, they need to tread lightly here.
The Rangers don't need to completely blow this team up but they need to strategically detonate certain areas of it with small pieces of dynamite. |

Perhaps some mega deal that sends Nash to Montreal and Rangers land PK (if that trading of him is still going around)... |

I wish. But if that ever happens, actual riots would occur and everybody involved should be fired on the Habs side. |

Nash goes to MTL, but you don't make up anything in cap space and Subban gets $9MM for the next 5 years, but you let Yandle walk then as well. Now you have $1.5MM in Cap space to fill the forward spot vacated by Nash ($7.8 + 2.6 - 9MM) the bad thing is you have 5 years of Subban and god forbid he has a decline you are back in the same boat. |

Buyout Girardi would have to occur or a trade of Klein. Pk is a R-dman.
Edit: Pk will only be 27, Nash will be 32. |

It would look nice but they would be paper thin though (Yandle walks, Boyle retires, Girardi gets bought out):
MacD, MacI, Skjei, Klein, PK Subban, Staal |

I see Nash going in a deal that gives them some cap relief and perhaps a few assets. |

Yeah good call on that one. But give me some credit. I called from the get of how Dan Boyle was going to be terrible. |

They already have no depth are aging quickly on the backend. So I'd rather get younger. |

Don't think they are going to quit on Hayes so quickly.
Young and cheap NHL talent is a very vital asset to have in this league. Hayes is not hitting a home run with his new deal. No reason deal him now when the team needs as many affordable contracts as possible. |

Count me in as well. HE is younger than Kreider and is only in his second season. He shows more skill as well. I think they get him cheap on a bridge deal and have 2 years to let him grow or two yeas to figure out he is brain dead. I'm hoping the light goes on because he has a ton of talent.

I'm okay with it if Hayes is dirt cheap but frankly in two seasons I am yet to be even remotely impressed with him. My hope for this offseason is that all of the guys who don't come to play every night are the ones moved and he is numero uno in that dept.
I'm calling it now that Hayes is never more than a mediocre bottom 6 player. |
