Nash to Anaheim for Vatanen and Rakell....get it done - KreiderBomb
I was thinking Nash for Vatanen and like a 2nd/3rd...not sure if the $ works there though |

Tampa Bay is a very soft team, Islanders are going to make quick work of them unless Bishop figures it out
Czikas is going to annihilate a few more of them before it's over |

If the popular belief is to trade Mcdonagh than what are we doing here? Brady Skjei isn't going to be ready to replace Mcdonagh's play. Just blow the whole thing up if that's the case. |

I definitely don't think the popular belief is to trade McDonagh
I think there is a belief that Skjei can develop into a solid 2nd pairing left side defenseman right behind him though |

Yeah, if McDonagh is going, burn this female dog to the ground and rise like the Phoenix in a couple years. |

It works. The Ducks need to fill out the rest of their roster though. Cogliano, Horcoff, Stewart, McGinn and Perron are all UFA's |

If they trade McDonagh give Kreider the C and let him fly like a majestic eagle |

I don't have a problem with burning it down, it's what I want. If some casualties happen along the way than so be it. But to think of moving Mcdonagh with this team not missing a beat is crazy. |

Bishop is good one out of ten games, the other nine he is just big. |

I think we have to be careful with the burn it down mentality.
At the end of the day, Lundqvist, Staal, and Girardi all have NMCs and aren't going anywhere besides a buyout for Girardi. So even if we blow it up and deal McDonagh, Stepan, Brassard, Zucc, Kreider, etc. for draft picks and try to enter a mini rebuild, with Lundqvist in net we will still be a team that is too good for a top 5 draft pick but too bad to do any damage in the playoffs let alone make them.
And going into that mode would really piss Lundqvist off which creates another circus on its own. |

Yeah that's not a bad idea. But Anaheim would have to do a sign and trade, or offer up one of their better prospect in a trade for Nash to get that deal done. |

I just don't see McDonagh being moved.
With that being said, the return would be crazy good. We'd take a huge step back defensively, but we could take a huge step forward offensively (i.e. Taylor Hall). |

Lundqvist would have to be open to a trade. No point in burning it down with him net. Although he barely kept this team afloat this year. Surround him with even worse players and there is no way he's carrying a bad team to the playoffs. |

I'm not really on the trade Nash bandwagon. I think the guy is still a really this hockey player. I'd like to keep him to be honest. |

Total pipe dream and completely hypothetical, but what would you guys think of trading McDonagh for Taylor Hall and then signing Yandle to a long term extension?
Have Yandle - Skjei - Staal down the left side, which is still solid depth, and Taylor Hall up front. |
